Equality Scheme
The Nottinghamshire Police Equality Scheme 2007-2010 sets out how the force intends to demonstrate its commitment to equality, prevent discrimination and meet its statutory duties under the Race Relations Amendment Act 2000, The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 and the Equalities Act 2006.
In addition to these statutory duties, the scheme also explains the steps the force is taking to ensure equality in the areas of age, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
The scheme covers all recognised areas of diversity. It supersedes the race and disability equality schemes and incorporates the gender equality duties placed on all public authorities from 30 April 2007.
