Lucas is responsible for the formulation, development
and implementation of the Force's procurement strategy, management of the vehicle fleet arrangements and the supplies and printing functions.

Duties and responsibilities

Lucas manages the following teams. 

The Procurement team provides advice on purchasing in line with financial regulations, which includes the formal tender process for contracts of appropriate value on behalf
of the Force. The department also supports the contract management of services worth
£11 million a year.

Transport Services provides advice on all transport and vehicle matters for the Force, including purchasing, commissioning, maintenance and financial cost. The team manages a fleet of 500 vehicles and is responsible for managing fuel and maximising efficiency.

The Supplies team issues uniforms and equipment, including emergency items and gives advice and guidance on uniform matters.

Printing offers a range of colour printing services including forms, booklets, posters and training manuals and also sources specialist printing requirements.
