Sneinton industrial estate robbery appeal
Updated on 16th August 2012
The robbery took place outside Salmon Skip Services in Poulton Drive, off the A612 Daleside Road, at around 9.15am on Thursday 9 August.
A 56-year-old man was approached by two men, one of whom produced a knife and demanded the victim hand over his watch.
The man refused and attempted to grab the knife, sustaining a hand injury in the process but preventing the men from taking his watch. However, his mobile phone was taken following a struggle.
One of the attackers is described as being of mixed race, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, 6ft 2ins to 6ft 4ins tall and of broad build.
The second man was white, around 5ft 6in tall and of slim build.
Both wore dark clothing and face coverings.
Investigating officer DC Dionne Love said “This was a nasty attack that left the victim with injuries, and could have been far worse. It occurred in a busy industrial area in broad daylight and there may well be people who saw either the incident or the men running off. Attacks like this are very unusual. I would urge anyone that saw anything suspicious that morning or has any information about the incident to contact us.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any other information about it is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 and ask for Meadows CID on extension 853 6460. The incident number is 196 of 9 August.
Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
