Watches snatched in Newark burglary
Updated on 24th August 2012
Thieves cut their way through security shutters and smashed windows of a jewellery shop before stealing more than 40 designer watches on display.
It happened at Andrew Michaels Jewellers, in Stodman Street, Newark, at about 2.50am on Monday 20 August 2012.
Police believe the shutters were cut open with a power saw which has been recovered from the scene.
Two suspects were seen fleeing the scene on bicycles, in the direction of Mothercare. They were both wearing dark clothing.
Detectives are appealing for information and particularly want to hear from anyone who believes they have been offered one of the watches for sale in the past week, or anyone who saw the suspects cycling away from the scene.
All the stolen watches are made by Brietling and can be easily identified.
Two men, aged 33 and 39, and a 22-year-old woman, were arrested in connection with the incident and have all been bailed pending further enquiries.
Anyone with information is urged to call Newark CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
