Bingham ATM theft: new vehicle appeal
Updated on 7th February 2012
Detectives investigating the theft of an ATM machine from a bank in Bingham on Monday have issued pictures of a new vehicle they want to trace.
CCTV footage of the branch of the Nat West bank in Market Place shows a dark coloured MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) or 4x4 driving past the scene at 2.43am, just minutes after a tractor was used to remove the ATM from the wall.
Police have issued images of the car in the hope of identifying the vehicle and the owner.
Detective Sergeant Steve Wragg, of Beeston CID, said: “We want to be sure that this vehicle had no connection with the theft. However, unless we can clearly identify it and the owner we can not eliminate it from our inquiry.
”Very few vehicles ordinarily travel through Bingham Market Place at that time of night. I would urge anyone who believes they know who owns the vehicle, or if it was you who was driving the vehicle along Market Place shortly before quarter to three on Monday morning to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone who believes they can assist with the inquiry should telephone Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
