Appeal follows Colwick pub robbery
Updated on 8th February 2012
Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen two men responsible for a robbery at a Colwick pub in the early hours of Monday (6 February).
After the Starting Gate pub had closed at around 1.15am, two men with their faces covered forced their way in to the building, in Daleside Road. They assaulted the manager and stole a large quantity of cash.
The men made off on foot in to the nearby Candle Meadow housing estate. Detectives cannot rule out the possibility that they may have then got into a vehicle.
DC Matt Butler, the investigating officer, said, “This was a violent robbery that left the pub manager not only bruised but very badly shaken.
“It occurred not long after the heavy snowfall and there would have been few people outside at this time of the morning.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen someone in the area or any activity they felt was suspicious around this time. We’d also like to speak to anyone who has any other information regarding this offence to contact us.”
Anyone with information can contact DC Butler at Meadows CID by telephoning 101, ext 853 6460.
Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
