Cyclist killed in collision is named

A cyclist killed in a collision in Bramcote on Wednesday (23 May) has been identified as a 40-year-old Beeston man.

John Knowles, of Kirk Close, was cycling along Coventry Lane, outside Bramcote Crematorium, when he was involved in a collision with a lorry at around 4.40am.

He suffered head injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he was pronounced dead.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the cyclist or lorry immediately before.

Anyone with information should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.

A cyclist has died following a collision with a lorry in Bramcote on Wednesday morning (23 May).

The crash happened outside Bramcote Crematorium, in Coventry Lane, at around 4.40am.

The cyclist, thought to be a 40-year-old man, suffered head injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

Coventry Lane was closed while police carried out their enquiries but was reopened just after midday.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision this morning. Contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
