Further sightings of missing woman
Updated on 2nd November 2012
A revisit to the street where a missing woman was last seen has resulted in further reported sightings of the 48-year-old.
Sandra Williams has never gone missing before and had last been seen in Sneinton Road during the early hours of Saturday 20 October.
Last weekend officers returned to the area to speak to residents, motorists and passers-by in the hope of fielding more information.
They spoke to two people who believed they saw Sandra on the day she went missing.
One person reported seeing her at about 8.30am outside a newspaper shop in Sneinton Road known locally as “Johno’s”. The other saw Sandra walking down the street towards Sneinton Market at about 8.45am.
Inspector Mark Stanley said: “Sandra’s family and police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare as she has not been seen for two weeks now.
“It is very out of character for her to go missing as she tends to stick to a strict routine, staying in the areas of Nottingham she knows well.
“The revisit to the area last weekend has resulted in further sightings and various enquiries are being carried out in response to this.”
Sandra is white, around 5ft 7ins tall, with short, straight brown hair. She may have been wearing a thigh-length navy blue coat which has a zip and is slightly padded.
Posters publicising the missing persons appeal have also been put up in the local area.
Anyone who has seen her, or knows where she could be, is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
