Metal gates stolen from golf course
Updated on 7th November 2012
Thieves have stolen a set of green metal gates from outside a golf course in Selston.
The heavy gates were unscrewed from their hinges and police believe the suspects would have needed to use a large vehicle to move them.
It happened at Selston Golf Club, in Langton Hollow, between 12 noon on Friday 2 November and 2.30pm on Saturday 3 November.
PC Andrew Harrison said: “The entrance to the golf course itself is on a busy main road which will be used by scores of motorists on a daily basis.
“The gates are clearly visible from the road so drivers may have seen someone acting suspiciously or a large vehicle parked outside the entrance.
“Scrap metal dealers may have also been offered the items for sale and I would urge anyone with information to call the police immediately.”
Each gate is three metres long and required three workmen and a JCB to fit them.
Witnesses should call PC Harrison on 101 extension 806 3663, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
