Tool theft victims invited to view stolen equipment

Updated on 18th October 2012

Police have issued an appeal to trace the owners of power tools seized from a house in Bilborough last week.

A total of 52 tools were recovered on Friday and officers are now inviting people who believe items belonging to them may be among the haul to make an appointment to view the equipment on Tuesday (23 October) at Radford Road Police Station, in Nottingham.

Among the makes are Makita, Bosch, DeWalt, Paslode, Milwaukee and JCB. Types of tools include drills, angle grinders, nail and screw guns, torches, sanders, cutters and saws.

The investigation was prompted when a member of the public saw a Bosch saw that he had reported stolen for sale on the auction site eBay.

So far, five of the seized items have been confirmed as stolen from a steel plant in Wollaton.

Anyone who has had tools matching the types and makes described above is asked to telephone 101, ext 803 4337 and arrange with DS Mike Ebbins to view the items on Tuesday.

Proof of purchase, model and serial numbers or photographs must be produced to confirm ownership of any of the items.
