Burglars target home of Clifton pensioner

Updated on 20th September 2012

Thieves snatched jewellery belonging to an 80-year-old woman during a burglary at a house in Clifton.

The pensioner had returned to her home in Leverton Green at about 2.50pm on Monday 17 September 2012 when she quickly realised there were two intruders upstairs.

She raised the alarm and after being disturbed the men fled by jumping out of a first floor window.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen the men as they made their escape.

The two suspects were both wearing hooded tops and may have sustained leg or ankle injuries after jumping out the window.

Anyone with information is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 494 of Monday 17 of September, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
