Counter Terrorism Security Advice

View of Nottingham City Centre

Current day terrorist tactics include suicide bombing which can cause mass casualities which is why we need to protect crowded  places. Examples of crowded places are shopping centres, sporting stadia and cinemas and theatres.

There are Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSAs) working within Nottinghamshire Special Branch to protect these crowded places. CTSAs are trained and coordinated by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO).

The main roles that CTSAs carry out include: promoting awareness of the current terrorist threat and how businesses can implement protective security measures to counter/mitigate the threat. CTSAs also work closely with other UK police forces, Government and non Governmental departments to counter the threat.

If you consider anything to be suspicious or potentially connected with terrorism please call Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 99 99.

If you think your business would benefit from receiving counter terrorism security advice please contact your local CTSA on:
ctsa@nottinghamshire.pnn.police.uk or call  0115 967 0999 ext 800 1035.

If you would like to report any suspicious activity confidentially which you believe could be related to terrorism call the anti terrorism hotline on 0800 789 321.
