Property marking
- As with items in your home, ultra violet marker pens can be used to write the name of the business and postcode on your valuables and assets. This will assist the police in returning your property if it is stolen;
- Make a note of your assets and include the following details: make, model, whether the item has been marked with a postcode and where the item was located, such as in an office or warehouse;
- Using a coded solution such as Smart water or SelectaDNA is a good way to establish ownership of items if they are stolen and recovered;
- Branding items with your company’s name or logo makes them less appealing for criminals as they have to work harder to remove details of the original owner before the goods can be sold on.
