Reporting Fraud
If you believe you are the victim of a fraud then you now have two ways of reporting this – you can contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or to Action Fraud.
What is Action Fraud?
This is a national organisation receiving complaints of fraud and is able to collate data from all over the country so if a particular fraud is widespread they can link the offences. Action Fraud also assess the report they receive and ensure the right police force area receive the complaint – it is sometimes better to send the report to the Force area where a suspected offender is, for example.
Action Fraud is also able to give advice as to fraud prevention and what to do if you are unfortunately a victim to a crime of fraud.
