Welcome to Bassetlaw, Newark & Sherwood
Our Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood division covers the largest area of the force’s four policing divisions. Covering two local authorities - Bassetlaw and Newark & Sherwood - it takes in the market towns of Worksop, Retford, Southwell and Newark.
With a population of around 250,000, the area is characterised by its diverse landscape and communities, from bustling towns to charming villages. The area is well served by rail links, with Newark and Retford on the main East Coast London to Edinburgh line. The A1 trunk road also runs through the division.
