Meet the Neighbourhood Policing
Team Inspector
Insp Andy Gan
I joined Nottinghamshire Police in 1992 starting my career at Central Police Station in Nottingham subsequently serving at Canning Circus, Broxtowe and The Meadows. Returning to Central police Station, I undertook the role of Partnership Sergeant working with Nottingham City Council on the various projects such as the introduction of PCSOs into the force, the development of a multi-agency antisocial behaviour team and the roll out of Safer Neighbourhoods across the City. In October 2006 I was promoted to Inspector and took up the post of Neighbourhhod Policing Inspector for the Sherwood Neighbourhood Policing Area.
In the past three years we have seen the full introduction of neighbourhood policing which has given the public a real say in how their communities are policed helping to set the priorities for their local beat teams.
This has resulted in real progress being made in tackling anti social behaviour and other offences such as criminal damage. We will continue to focus on these issues as I know they are the sort of things that have a real impact on the quality of life for people living in the area.
I am based at Southwell Police Station, where you can contact me on 101 ext 8097670 You can also email me at andy.gan@nottinghamshire.pnn.police.uk.
