Newark
Newark Neighbourhood is made up of the beats of Bridge, Castle and Magnus and Devon.
It incorporates the historical town centre and castle ruins, old Cattle Market and Vehicle Park leading up towards the main island and the A46.
Across the island is the A617 and A616 the latter route taking you towards the British Sugar site and the A617 takes you past the Newark Rugby Club towards Kelham.
The Newark Neighbourhood also covers Farndon Road and Devon, Sconce Park, Hawton Road.
The Magnus and Devon beat is enclosed by the main bordering roads of Hawton Road, Grange Road and London Road and some of the town centre stretching as far as Appleton Gate. We also cover the allotments and industrial area off Bowbridge Road.
The Hawtonville estates is part of this beat and Neighbourhood.
Magnus and Devon is a largely residential area and serving the area we have three primary schools, The Magnus secondary school and Newark Hospital which is central to the area. Within the residential areas we also have some rural areas such as play parks.
Bridge Beat is made up of the Yorke Drive Estate, the Winthorpe Road Estate and the surrounding streets around the Sleaford Road area in Newark. Bridge beat also covers the Brunel Drive/Northern Road Industrial Estate.

Priority Settings Meeting (PSM) update
This priority has been identified after consultation with the local community through the Safer Neighbourhood groups and Neighbourhood Priority Surveys and all other engagement opportunities. This has subsequently been agreed by the Newark Priority Setting Meeting on the 09/01/12 to be a priority.
Specific issues of anti social behaviour to be tackled are;
Street drinking on Yorke Drive
ASB in the town centre - groups gathering and drinking in park areas during the day
ASB on Hawtonville estate involving young people gathering in the evening and at weekends.
Our Response
The SNT will work closely with the Newark and Sherwood District Council ASB team to identify the offenders and take civil and criminal action whenever there is sufficent evidence.
Increase patrols in identified in hot spot areas.

Groups of vehicles congregating in car parks causing a nuisance to surrounding residents by playing loud music, screeching of wheels and littering. this is a particular isse at Asda Newark, KFC /
Mc Donalds Newark and Morrisons Newark in the evenings and at weekends.
Our Response
We will increase the number of patrols of hotspot areas at peak times for offending
We will identify offenders and visit them with the Newark and Sherwood District Council ASB Team to warn them re their conduct and issue notices which will allow their vehicles to be seized if there are further offences.
