Neighbourhood Priorities

Through consultation with the members of the public in this neighbourhood we regularly set out a number of priorities to be tackled.

  • Anti-Social Behaviour in the Castle Hill area Show details
    The local community have reported a general increase in the Castle Hill area of Worksop of Anti-Social Behaviour and alcohol misuse.

    Our Response
    Liaison with Sainsbury's Local about issues with the sale and theft of alcohol.
    Target known offenders with a view to seeking Anti-Social Behaviour Orders
    Include on Operation Animism (Weekend Anti-Social Behaviour patrols) for increased patrols on foot through the area
    Increased patrols by local beat team
    Underage alcohol possession and use to be dealt with through yellow/red card scheme
    Enforcement of Worksop Designated Public Place Order
  • Vehicle-related nuisance in the Manton and Golf Course areas Show details
    There is an ongoing problem with off-road motor vehicles being used in an anti-social manner. These vehicles have also been used on the golf course in order to cause damage to the fairways and greens, putting areas of the golf course out of action for considerable periods of time.

    Our Response
    Improve security around the targetted areas to restrict access.
    Use the media and local contacts to identify the offenders via the local community.
    Target the named offenders provided by community intelligence.

    Deploy the police off-road team
  • Arson to vehicles and properties Show details
    In the last 3 months, a total of 12 cars have been set of fire in the Manton area. More recently, two food outlets have been burgled and set on fire. The vehicles are being set on fire by some form of accelerant from the front.

    Our Response
    Ongoing investigation by CID and the beat team. Arrests have been made specifically for the property fires.
    Visible and covert patrols at the material times.
    CCTV cameras to be deployed
    Appeal to the local community for intelligence on the identity of the offenders through media and local contacts.
    Liaison with the fire service specifically the arson taskforce and working in partnership with those and other agencies to jointly tackle the problem
