It has been identified by the Kingsway Area Safer Neighbourhood Committee that fly tipping on Grives Lane has increased.
Our Response
Update 9 August 2011-
As per the last update from 27 May 2011, the suspect for flytipping has been interviewed by the neighbourhood enforcement team at Ashfield District Council. The Police are currently awaiting an update, once we have received this, the outcome will be publicised.
The locality is constantly being monitored by the beat team and CPOs
Update 27 May 2011-
Ashfield District Council currently have one suspect for flytipping. This suspect will be interviewed for this offence in due course. The result of this will be publicised once a result has been achieved.
Update 10 May 2011-
The beat team and CPO Pete Calladine have continued to conduct patrols on Grives Lane and surrounding area's. The beat team continually liase with Ashfield District Council, and there have been no recent reports made.
Update 18 March 2011-
Ashfield District Council have undertaken 6 investigations at the site over the last 3 months.
As a result, 2 flytips have been located on Grives Lane. Interviews under caution and section 108 notices have been submitted by the council, which are now potential for a prosecution. The beat team are currently awaiting an update on these 2 flytips.
Also, 4 further flytips have been located. Due to insufficient evidence, the site was cleared up.
Update January 2011-
Flytipping is managed by Ashfield District Council. Anyone with any information should contact 0800 183 84 84.
Patrols in the Grives Lane area have continued by the local beat team, who also work closely with external agencies such as the Community Protection Officers who also regularly patrol Grives Lane and surrounding areas, and then feedback any information, and photos directly to Ashfield District Council.

The neighbourhood enforcement officers from Ashfield District Council investigate flytipping.
At present, we have no information as to who is responsible, but enquiries are continuing.

Update June/July 2010- High visibility patrols in the locality have continued by the local beat officers.
Community Protection Officer, Michelle Lawson has recently joined the team and has also been regularly patrolling the vicinity.
Any fly tipping in the locality is reported directly to Ashfield District Council and photographs are also obtained and forwarded on, if necessary.
Enquiries are ongoing as to who is responsible.
PCSO 6311 GREGG has liased with officers also at Ashfield District Council in relation to this priority.

Update May 2010 - Ashfield District Council Neighbourhood Services have attended this location on 5 occasions since the last update, having to remove waste on each occasion. We have no information as to who is responsible, but enquiries are continuing
Update February 2010- This has just been added as a priority. The local beat team will conduct high visibility patrols in and around the area of Grives Lane. If anyone has been flytipping in the area, then the beat team will obtain photographs and liase with the Council also in attempt to identify person(s) responsible. The Community Protection Officers are also aware of this priority and will also be conducting high visibility patrols within the area; and investigating any flytipping also.

It has been identified that general ASB issues surround the following areas:rear of Orchard road, Kingsway, Kingsway Cemetary, Kingsway Park and Half Moon Drive.
Our Response
Update June/July 2010- High visibility patrols in the locality have continued by the local beat officers.
Community Protection Officer, Michelle Lawson has recently joined the team and has also been regularly patrolling the hotspot areas.
Both beat officers have been holding regular meetings with staff from Ashfield District Council in relation to issues on Kingsway Park. Approximately every 3 months, officers from Ashfield District Council and Youth Services attend Kirkby Police Station and discuss issues on Kingsway Park.
Various stop forms have been issued in the hotspot areas and further intervention is put in place with individuals, if necessary.
Both beat officers have continued to liase with external agencies, such as Ashfield Homes.
Update May 2010- High visibility patrols are ongoing in the hotspot areas by the local beat officer's and CPO's. Stop forms and fixed penalty notices are issued as appropriate. PCSO 6311 GREGG is currently gathering evidence to place a few nominals onto an Anti-Social Behaviour Contract. The beat officer's are constantly liasing with external agencies such as APAC and Ashfield Homes and joint visits are ongoing. Community re-visits are still be conducted by the local officer's and further intervention is put in place if necessary.
Update December 2009- High visibility patrols are being conducted in the hotspot areas by the Kirkby Central beat team. Fixed penalty notices are issued as appropriate. Joint visits with Ashfield Homes have been completed. Community re-visits are being conducted, and further advise and reassurance is offered. The Community Protection Officers also patrol the above area's and feedback any information to the beat team.
Our Solution
The SNC members have changed the ASB locations, however ASB still remains as a priority although the locations have changed, therefore a new priority with these on will be created. - Anti Social Behaviour Show details
It has been identified that anti social behaviour has increased at the following locations:- Kingsway Park, Kingsway Cemetary & Mayfield Street.

update 30th October 2011
the local beat team and CPO's continually monitor Kingsway Park. repoerted incidents have decreased at the park thorugh the summer period. Operation animism anti-social behaviour patrols will support this as well in the oncoming darker evenings.
Update 3 August 2011-
The beat team and CPO's have continued to patrol the hotspot localities in order to prevent/deter any offences or incidents.
Incidents on Kingsway Cemetary have decreased since the last update.
The beat team have continued to work closely with external partner agencies, such as Ashfield Homes, the Anti-Social Behaviour team at Ashfield District Council, and East Midlands Housing Association regarding various addresses on the beat area.

Update 18 March 2011-
The beat team have continued to conduct patrols in the hotspot localities & are also working closely with external agencies, such as Ashfield Homes, East Midlands Housing Assocation & the Anti-Social Behaviour team at Ashfield District Council in order to combat some of the issues on the beat area. The beat team have also taken positive action in relation to youths stopped in the area.

Proactive patrols are currently being conducted by the beat team. CPO Pete Calladine has recently joined the Kirkby Central beat team, and is also assisting with proactive patrols in the above hotspot area's and feeding back any relevant information/intelligence.

Please note there has been an increase in theft offences on Kingsway Cemetary. We are urging yourselves to contact us if you notice anyone acting suspiciously. Make a note of the description and any other relevant information, and contact us. The beat team are also regularly patrolling the cemetary particularly during the evening.

The beat team are currently liasing with external agencies in relation to their priorities and other enquiries or incidents. This is an effective tool as housing associations can assist with tenancy breaches.
Our Solution - Speeding traffic Show details
It has been identified that vehicles are passing along Church Street and Kingsway at excessive speed. The problem is said to peak during the hours of 0800hrs - 1000hrs and 1600hrs - 1800hrs. This is having a negative impact on the local residents who are concerned that a serious incident will happen. There are two school crossing patrols situated on the roads of which some vehicles have failed to stop for the crossing sign due to the excessive speeds.
Our Response
Update 9 August 2011-
The beat team have continued to patrol both roads. Another action day as mentioned on the update from 18 May will be arranged in due course
Update 18 May 2011-
On Wednesday 18th May 2011 the beat team at Kirkby Police Station conducted an operation which was aimed at road traffic offences. Locations covered include the following:
Church Hill
Southwell Lane
Sutton Road.
As a result of this action day, the following was achieved:-
1 vehicle was seized as the driver had no insurance or a driving license
4 endorsable fixed penalty notices were issued
13 non endorsable fixed penalty notices were issued
5 drivers were verbally warned as a result of exceeding the speed limit
1 offender was arrested for possession of an offensive weopen, and possession of drugs with the intent to supply
Update 10 May 2011-
The beat team have continued to conduct patrols along both roads. A further action day has been arranged and the results will be publicised in due course.
Update 4 April 2011-
On 4th April 2011 the Kirkby beat team participated in a day of action with the DVLA enforcement team. The beat team also made use of the mobile speed camera which proved to be effective. Streets covered include Church Street, Kingsway, Diamond Avenue, and Southwell Lane. As a result of the action day the following results were achieved:
20 fixed penalty notices were issued for drivers failing to wear a seatbelt
1 fixed penalty notice was issued to a driver for driving whilst on a mobile phone.
Update 18 March 2011-
The beat team have continued to conduct patrols along both roads & have arranged some dates for the speed check operations, and the results will be publicised in due course.
Update January 2011-
The members at the last SNC meeting decided that they would like this priority to remain.
The beat team are currently in the process of organising future speed check operations for 2011.
The beat team work closely with external agencies such as the Community Protection Officers.

The beat team have continued to conduct regular patrols along both roads in an attempt to deter drivers.
Update June/July 2010- On 4th July 2010 PC 3092 Williamson & PC 3011 Dickson conducted a speed check operation on Church Street between 1241 hours & 1300 hours. As a result, there were 0 persons speeding within the time they were on the street.
Also, the local beat officers have been regularly patrolling both Church Street and Kingsway during the peak times.
Update May 2010- The local beat officer's and CPO's have continued high visibility patrols on Church Street and Kingsway, liasing with the crossing guardians in both locations. The pedestrian crossing and two speed advisory cameras have proved to be effective. The local beat officer's have also liased with Rachael Madden, County Councillor for the Kirkby Central beat ward in relation to this priority.
Update December 2009- Over the past 6 months high visibility patrols have continued on Church Street and Kingsway, and we have patrolled with the crossing guardians in both areas. Our speed camera enforcement officer's from Kirkby have conducted numerous check points in both areas of which has resulted in numerous drivers being warned and advised. We have had a roads policing unit patrolling the Kirkby area of which has proved a positive impact on offending vehicles. A pedestrian crossing and two speed advisory cameras have been added to Victoria Road by the Highways Department to help combat speeding vehicles.
