    Damage is being caused to shop canopys, shutters, and grafitti is becoming a priority in the town centre.

    Update December 2009- High visibility patrols are being conducted by the Safer Neighbourhood Team. The Community Protection Officers also patrol the hotspot areas and feedback any information or intelligence. CCTV at Central Control Mansfield monitors the town centre and the local beat team work closely with the CCTV unit. If you have any information on who is causing the damage then please let us know.

    The Town Centre priorities have now been completed. Steps are being taken to look at setting up a new Safer Neighbourhoods Committee. This will then be used to establish any new priorities. At present the Kirkby Central Team will now look after the Town Centre.
  • Antisocial behaviour   Show details
    Large groups of people between the ages of 10 yrs - 19 yrs are gathering in the pedestrianised area of Kirkby Town centre predominately between library and the co-op.
    They are causing general nuisance to local people and businesses in the area - behaving in an intimidating manner.

    Update December 2009- High visibility patrols are being conducted by the Safer Neighbourhood Team in the hotspot areas of the town centre. The Community Protection Officers also patrol the hotspot areas and feedback any information or intelligence to the local beat team. Fixed penalty notices can be issued for public order offences. The local beat team also work closely with the Police Licensing Officer, and Youth Servcies.

    Shop lifting has been identified as priority predominately in the Supermarkets and pedestrianised areas.

    Update 1st April 2011-
    High visibility patrols have continued in the town centre area by the local beat team, including also the support of the Community Protection Officers who in turn feedback any information or intelligence directly to the beat team.
    The beat team continue to work closely with the CCTV system currently set up in and around the town centre area. This is turn helps to identify suspects, not only for shop theft related offences, but other offences also.
    The beat team are currently attempting to re-establish what the priorities for the town centre need to be.
