Ashfield South

Ashfield South Neighbourhood Policing Area comprises the busy market town and surrounding residential estates of Hucknall, and the rural wards of Selston, Underwood and Jacksdale on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border.

With a population of around 30,000 Hucknall is known around the world as being the burial place of the poet Lord Byron and the birthplace of composer Eric Coates. The town is also famous for its association with Rolls Royce and the production and testing of the company's aircraft engines.

The Neighbourhood Policing Area is divided into seven beats and officers work from two stations - the Watnall Road site in the heart of Hucknall, and the Tin Hat Centre in Selston, a convenient police contact point that serves the needs of the local villages.

Each beat has its own designated officer, supported by response officers, detectives and police staff, as well as three Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) who target antisocial behaviour and co-ordinate multi-agency responses to community issues.
