Beat Update

February 2012
Warrants have been executed on the beat cluster with some success. Cannabis plants and Amphetamine have been seized and the subsequent court cases have seen offenders punished by the court. Many of the warrants are obtained using information from the public. Please contact the SNT or use the Crimestoppers number below.

Officers are already being deployed in the area using speed detection devices in an attempt to reduce the speed of vehicles in particular on Skegby Lane where heavy goods vehicles that are over 7.5 ton maximum gross weight will also be stopped.

The team have recently begun revisiting local primary schools. A recent visit to Redgate School saw the team talking to the young people and they were able to look around a Police vehicle.

The team will be running further fishing competitions for young people from the area. For places at the events contact Pc Tierney or PCSO Kordecki using the contact details on the website. The next competition will be on Thursday 5th April 2012 at the Sherwood Forest Farm Park fishery.

There has been a recent increase in burglary offences however an offender has been arrested recently and is now in prison pending trial for a number of offences some of which are in the Grange Farm and Ladybrook areas.

The Upper Ladybrook Neighbourhood Watch continues to work closely with the Police and welcomes new members. You can find the dates of their meetings in the events section. The SNT will always endeavour to have a member of the team present at each of these meetings.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team actively seeks any information that would contribute to our ongoing efforts to reduce crime on the area. Please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or any of the beat mobile numbers listed on this site. Information can be given in confidence.

Safer Neighbourhood priority surveys and neighbourhood alerts are still being conducted. If you wish to complete a survey or altert please contact the team, there is a link to complete your own online survery.

Information about drug use and drug abuse continues to be given to the beat team and even more warrants have been executed recently. One warrant produced over 50 cannabis plants which would yield thousands of pounds worth of illegal drugs. Officers from the Mansfield North team assisted their colleagues in Warsop and executed three warrants in one day all of which resulted in drugs being seized. Further warrants are planned on our area.
As the weather gets warmer we often see an increase in the theft of garden equipment. Please ensure that you make outbuildings and sheds as secure as possible, make hasps and staples at least as strong as the locks you place on them. Use bolts rather than screws to fix hasps, staples and hinges in place. Also choose the crop less style of padlocks. Please contact the team if you need advice about securing your property, we would rather help you increase your security than attend a burglary at your premises at a later date.
