Meden-Church Warsop

Back to Mansfield North

The beat incorporates the villages of Meden Vale, Church Warsop and Warsop Vale as well as a small part of the town of Warsop.

The beat boundary runs along the A60 with everything to the left as you leave Mansfield Woodhouse part of this beat up to Carr Lane. The River Meden then forms the boundary with the area north of the river also part of this beat. As you leave Meden Vale along Netherfield Lane the area becomes B division. B division also technically covers the colliery however in order to provide a better service, the beat team also covers this part of the village.

Along the A60, the beat ends at Cuckney Hill which also becomes B division.

Under the Policing Pledge, this is a rural beat and has a 20 minute emergency response time. For an explanation of what this means click here.

Beat Priorities

Through consultation with the members of the public in this beat we regularly set out a number of priorities to be tackled.

  • The supply and use of controlled substances Show details
The use and supply of controlled substances has been identified as a public priority by local residents of the Warsop area. This activity is happening at various different times and locations. As a result the Safer Neighbourhood Team is actively seeking intelligence from local residents.

    Our Response
The local beat team will gather intelligence from residents about the supply and use of controlled substances and where possible act upon this intelligence. We will where possible carry out search warrants on properties believed to be used in the supply of drugs and search persons believed to be in possesion of controlled substances.
The beat team urge anyone with any information about the supply and use of controlled substances to contact any member of the beat team or call 101 to report it.

Beat Update

May we take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

With the start of the New Year this is the perfect opportunity to update everyone on how the last year has gone.
Crime in Warsop and the surrounding villages is down by an average of 14.7% for the year. These figures include reductions of 29% in criminal damage, a 17% reduction in violence offences and a 45 % decrease in
the offence of burglary other than a dwelling, which includes garages and sheds.
Serious acquisitive crime including robbery, dwelling burglary and vehicle crime, overall is down for the year by an average of 8.6%. This includes a decrease of 44.4% in vehicle crime which relates to 51 fewer victims of crime in 2011 compared to the 2010.
There have been increases in 2 types of crime in the last 12 months compared to the year before. These are dwelling burglary where we have seen an increase of around 92% which equates to 15 more offences and theft which has increased by 28%. These are areas that we are working hard to tackle and despite the rise in the year, theft has actually decreased by 40% in the last 3 months compared to the same period the previous year.
Anti-social behaviour figures for the cluster show that there have been 233 fewer callers made to the police last year compared with the same period for the previous 12 months. This equates to a 19% decrease in ASB calls to the police.
We continue to work hard in an attempt to further reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in Warsop and the surrounding villages.

PRIORITIES
On a quarterly basis the neighbourhood policing priorities are set by the community in conjunction with the councillors and the police. January has seen 3 new priorities set in a meeting at the town hall. These are as follows:
• Anti-Social Behaviour by juveniles in the town centre area between 6pm – 12 midnight each night of the week.
• Underage drinking to include the supply and sale of alcohol to minors. This is particularly prevalent in Warsop Town Centre and Ossington Close, Meden Vale.
• The supply and use of controlled drugs in the Warsop area. This activity is happening at various different times and locations.

These will remain as the priorities until the next meeting which will be held at Warsop Town Hall on 11/04/2011 at 7pm.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team actively seeks any information that would contribute to our ongoing efforts to reduce crime on the area. Please contact Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 or any of the beat mobile numbers listed on this site. Information can be given in confidence.
THE NEW NON EMERGENCY POLICE TELEPHONE NUMBER IS 101.
