The other main road boundary is Chesterfield Road North (from the junction of Abbot Road), and includes housing and industrial areas on both sides of the road until the border with Derbyshire, which is located immediately after Pleasley Springs.

Beat Update
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS
The way the Pleasley Hill Safer neighbourhood Team (SNT) operates has recently changed. There will now be a member of the local SNT available to deal with your call seven days a week, however to facilitate the change it may be that the previous dedicated Pleasley Hill SNT of PC 809 Chris Buxton and PCSO 8153 Mike Cartwright will not respond to your initial call or enquiry. Both Chris and Mike now form part of the West Mansfield Safer Neighbourhood Team that are responsible for covering the police beats known as Sherwood, Bull Farm and Pleasley, Ladybrook, Grange Farm, Cumberland and Broomhill. These beats are aligned with the pre 1st May 2011 Mansfield District council wards. The team consists of four Constables, PC 3010 Ian Dickson PC 809 Chris Buxton, PC 2479 Simon Hardy, PC 831 Marcus Tierney and six Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) 4722 Stevie Willetts, 7792 Shelley Reynolds, 7321 Donna Ward, 8153 Mike Cartwright, 8180 Romek Kordecki and 4729 Craig Bull.
Although Chris and Mike will retain overall responsibility for the Pleasley Hill beat and deal with ongoing issues it may be that one of the other team members will contact you initially, in their absence such as when they are on rest days or periods of leave. Likewise they may be required to spend time dealing with issues on the other beats within the “ West Mansfield cluster” in the absence of their team members that are primarily responsible for covering them.
FEBRUARY 2012 UPDATE:
The Bull Farm and Pleasley Hill area continues to show a healthy reduction in relation to reported crime and disorder figures. This carry's on a trend that has been ongoing for the last 5 years, with reported incidents reducing year after year. For the period of 01/01/2012 to 20/02/2012 the most regularly reported incidents of Antisocial Behaviour, Burglary, Theft, Violence and Auto Crime all dropped compared to the same period last year, while Criminal Damage showed a rise of only 2 reported incidents. This is in part due to the diligence and common sense showed by residents of the Bull Farm and Pleasley Hill ward to ensure that they are not doing anything to make themselves an easier target for would be criminals. If anyone has any information to give in relation to crime in your area please don't hesitate to contact the Police on 101, or to make an anonymous report call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. To provide your local Police with up to date information of issues in your area, you can pop into your local Police Station and ask to complete a Neighbourhood Priority Survey, or even complete one online at www.neighbourhoodprioritysurvey.co.uk
JANUARY 2012 update including new priorities for area to April 2012
New priorities have been agreed for the Mansfield West Beat Team, the priority which directly affects the Pleasley Hill/Bull Farm Beat is Anti-Social Behaviour particularly on Peel Crescent Bull Farm. All the Beat Team will work together in an attempt to combat these issues including regular patrols and directed patrols such as Operation Animism which concentrates on Anti-Social Behaviour on Friday and Saturday evenings.
In addition to this one of the area priorities is to reduce Robbery,Burglary and Vehilcle Crime whilst the main concern for these areas of crime is Cumberland Beat, any operations in relation to these crimes will include Pleasley and Bull Farm.
If you see anything suspicious please report it, if we don’t know about it we cannot do anything about it. Remember our new number for non emergency calls is 101, you should still ring 999 in an emergency.
Reduce the risk of vehicle crime
• Don't leave items on display, remove valuables and wipe away sat nav marks
• Always lock your vehicle, and don’t forget the boot and windows
• When you’re out and about, always try and park in a secure attended car park,
• When parking at home, use your garage if you have one and lock garden gates. If you park on the street, try to leave your car in a well-lit area or near a CCTV camera
• Fit an immobiliser or an alarm, and use a steering lock to deter criminals.
• Consider buying anti-theft screws for your number plate and attach lockable wheel nuts to help prevent wheels from being stolen
• Have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etched on windows, windscreens and headlamps
Reduce the risk of Burglary
CHECK THAT DOORS AND WINDOWS ARE LOCKED
Burglaries occur at all times of the day and night, and often occur through insecure doors, whist the occupants are in the house. Recently victims have had items stolen from their kitchens, whilst they are watching the TV in the room next door. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU. Keep your doors and windows locked at all times, including when you are in your house
BURGLAR ALARMS
If you have a burglar alarm installed at you address, please use it. Often Police Officers revisit victims of Burglary to find that they have not used their alarms. Alarms are a very effective method of deterring burglars. If you hear a neighbours alarm activating please investigate the matter or contact the Police. Occasionally Alarms have activated and no-one has reacted to the activation. IF YOUR ALARM ACTIVATE WOULD YOU WANT SOMEONE TO RESPOND TO IT?
CCTV
If you have CCTV cameras installed at your address, ensure that it working correctly and that you know how to use it. Often Police visit addresses that have CCTV footage only to find that potential evidence has been lost as the systems do not work or the owners do not know how to work them
GATES AND FENCES
Ensure that gates are secure and locked, and that fences are not easy to climb over. Burglars look for easy opportunities to commit crimes. Often a locked gate can stop them from entering your garden to look for further opportunities
LIGHTING
Exterior lighting is another effective method of deterring burglars. Burglars do not want witnesses to be able to identify them. Lighting increases the chances of this happening. If you have exterior lighting at your address, ensure that it is working correctly.
SUPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Police Officer always conduct enquiries at the addresses neighbouring burglary victims. It is often found that people have not reported suspicious activity to the Police as they do not wish to ‘waste our time’. It is never a waste of time to report suspicious activity to the Police. Burglars look for opportunities to commit crime, this may occur hours or days prior to the burglary occurring. If the Police are notified of this activity, there is a real opportunity to prevent it happening. PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN THE CURE
CRIMESTOPPERS
People often choose not to report matters to the Police for a number of reasons, including concerns about retaliation form offenders. If you feel like this, please ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Any calls made to Crimestoppers are complexly confidential. Calls are free and you will not be asked for your name, address or telephone number.
