The shops attract a large number of customers on a daily basis, from Forest Fields and the surrounding area.

There are approximately 5360 residents in households in Forest Fields. The boundary roads are Noel Street, Gregory Boulevard, Sherwood Rise and Gladstone Street.

The area is populated by a variety of cultures and religions with numerous places of worship throughout the area.

Dispersal Orders in Forest Fields:

Following extensive pro-active work in Forest Fields the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) Team have gained a dispersal order to help complement their existing powers when dealing with groups of people in the area.

The dispersal order will run between 14th April 2011 and 5th October 2011.  It is a necessary tool that local Police will use alongside other Policing methods to support members of the community who have been subject to continued / protracted intimidation, harassment, alarm and distress.

Put simply, officers will target groups of two or more people who cause nuisance and disorder within the boundary of Forest Fields (see the map below). Those people will be instructed to leave the area.  If they refuse they can be arrested. If they return to the area within 24 hours they can be arrested for that too.

It is not there to target people going about their normal day to day business.

Should you still have further questions concerning the dispersal order, please call the Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 or visit us at our surgeries.

Under the Policing Pledge, this is an urban beat and has a 15 minute emergency response time. For an explanation of what this means click here.

Beat Update

Current Update – February 2012

We’ve noticed a spike in autocrime this past month with five cars having been attacked in Forest Fields. Unattended car windows are being smashed and items stolen from within.
Whilst we are working at catching those that we suspect are responsible for this blip we ask that you make the thief’s job harder by following these basic rules :-

1. Don’t leave items and bags out on display.
2. If you have a sat nav, keep it with you when you leave the car.
3. Clean your windscreen after using your sat nav. Thieves look for the tell-tale circular rubber sucker mark that the sat nav leaves behind.
4. Choose carefully where you leave your car, try to pick a well lit area or somewhere that has CCTV or security.

Please continue to report all behaviour that you deem suspicious. If you see someone paying too much attention to parked cars in the street we ask that you notify us immediately on our usual 999 number.
We have a new local “101” number for all other non-urgent calls.
