The Hyson Green beat area is situated 1.5 miles from the City Centre of Nottingham. It is defined by the boundary roads of Noel Street, Shipstone Street, Gregory Boulevard, Wilkinson Street and Alfreton Road. The area is compact and the 4000 residents live in close proximity to one another in a mixture of social and private housing. The area boasts and benefits from a diverse population which is reflected in the shops which serve the area that are situated mainly on Radford Road, including jewellery, fast food restaurants, bars, pet shop, clothes shops etc. At the heart of the area is ASDA supermarket which attracts large sections of the community from this and surrounding areas.

The area of Hyson Green is easily accessed by foot, and local public transport, which includes the tram system and regular bus routes.

From the Hyson Green Neighbourhood Policing Team we all hope you have had a relaxing and enjoyable break and wish you all the best for the coming year.

During December 2011 – Overall crime is down by 20 % compared to this time last year. Burglary and vehicle crime is still a priority for the area.
Please help us to keep crime low and not to become a victim.

We also have new initiative called Nottinghamshire alert. This works by the Neighbourhood Policing Team sending/texts to people who have signed up to it and letting them know what is happening in their area on a regular basis. Please get in contact with your local officers if you are interest
