Beat Update
Current Update February 2012
Aspley Beat area has shown some great reductions in crime over the past year.
Burglary is down over 36% - Robbery down over 16% - Vehicle crime down also by over 18%.However these reductions have been affected by increases in reported theft ,and violence. High levels of Domestic violence in the Aspley Ward as a whole contribute greatly to these numbers. The impact of managing these numbers of domestic victims is that they have a reduced capacity to address some of the other issues on the area. The team have identified the current areas of demand. Welstead Avenue had 2 reported Burglary offences in January, however an arrest has been made for both offences . There were no repeat locations for criminal damage or Robbery.
January was an excellent month as we conducted 24 Drugs Warrants across the area and seized over £103,000 worth of drugs.Local intelligence plays a major part in this process. We continue to work with our partners to ensure anyone dealt with for this is evicted from their properties.
