UPDATE FEBRUARY 2010
On Thursday the 7th of January 2010, a site survey with Traffic Management was conducted on Trowell Road after residents voiced concerns over the quality of the road immediately outside number 256, and the effect it was having on large vehicles leaning dangerously towards a bus shelter at the location. The survey concluded that it is indeed a road maintenance issue and it has been agreed that the City Roads Maintenance will visit the site and take appropriate action.
Another issue, which is regularly raised at public meetings, is the lack of any pedestrian phase at the 5-arm Balloon Woods junction. An officer from Safer Routes To School has been contacted and was not aware of this being an issue. The officer has agreed to visit the site to determine if a need for a pedestrian crossing exists or is needed, given its close proximity to Firbeck Primary School.
Although issues have been discussed at a recent public meeting and agreed that the priority can be closed it was also agreed that any concerns issues can still be forwarded to the appropriate agencies and been included in our reassurance patrol plan.
Update JANUARY 2010
We have liased with the Highways agency and they have replaced the faded lane markings. We are still in consultation with the Highways agency re this junction and an on site survey was completed on 07/01/2010. We are currently waiting for the results. Speed Gun Patrols have been conducted at target times by the Neighbourhood Policing team.
This issue has been discussed at our most recent public meeting it has been agreed that this priority can be closed, however we will continue to monitor the situation and have included this in our reassurance patrol plan.

On 28/04/2010 - reports received of a group of males with a yellow quad on the bridle path at the rear of Farndale Estate. Four males were spoken to, the quad was out of fuel so advice given and parent of owner informed.
On 28/04/2010 a local male was stopped on Wollaton Vale on his road legal scooter and issued a section 59 warning after being seen riding along the pavement on Firbeck estate and carrying a pillion passenger with no helmet.
As a result of this we have put in place High visibility patrols at target times to identify offenders.
