  • Anti-social behaviour   Show details
    There have been reports of anti-social behaviour taking place in Beechdale Road and Harvey Road. The Early Bird Site in Beechdale Road has been demolished and the site left as rubble. Rubble has been used to cause damage. This site is being developed into residential houses/flats and awaiting finalisation of plans.

    Our Response
    There have been reports of anti-social behaviour taking place in Beechdale Road and Harvey Road. The Early Bird Site in Beechdale Road has been demolished and the site left as rubble.     Our Solution
    Police have conducted high visibility patrol along Beechdale Road and the Harvey Road sight. Also street briefings with passing members of the public have been conducted. There have been no reported cases of Criminal Damage or ASB in the last two months within the area.
  • Vehicle-related Nuisance   Show details
    Complaints of vehicles parking on double yellow lines and zigzags in Aspley Lane and Trentham Drive as Bluecoat school finishes for the day. Vehicles park on the corner of Trentham Drive and Trentham Gardens, causing an obstruction for vehicles pulling out into Trentham Drive.

    Our Response
    High visibility patrols will be carried out at key times, with details of problem vehicles obtained. Liaison with the City Council’s traffic department will also take place.

    Our Solution
    High visibility patrols have been conducted within the area at key times. City Council Traffic Wardens were notified and patrols were conducted. There have been no complaints from local residents.
  • Speeding Traffic   Show details
    Residents have reported concerns of people speeding in Beechdale Road and Harvey Road, both of which have schools and leisure facilities that children frequent.

    Our Response
    The speed gun will be used to tackle speeding drivers in the area by using mobile speed assessments and with penalties issued to those caught over the speed limit. High visibility patrols at key times including end of school, will also take place.

    Our Solution
    Police attended offence location with speed guns and targeted speeding offenders with tickets.
  • Anti Social Behaviour   Show details
    Anti Social Behaviour along Aspley Lane near to shopping area and along Beechdale Road. Youths hanging around the shops after school and evening and during the weekend. Youths playing ball games and being a general nuisance to shop owners and residents.

    CURRENT UPDATE FOR AUGUST 2010
    Patrols have continued and reports of anti-social behaviour in this area have dropped significantly since this issue was first made a priority. Patrols will continue in the area as usual; however with the pleasing fall in incidents in the area other priority areas have now been identified through discussion with local residents and at our bi-monthly meetings.

    UPDATE FOR JULY 2010
    The Beechdale Beat Team has and will continue to patrol the affected area at the material times. CCTV has been monitoring the area and will continue to do so. The team are continuing to engage with youths in the area and work with other agencies to address issues identified. Families are still responding well and reports of Anti Social Behaviour reports have continued decrease throughout June. We will continue to monitor and patrol the affected areas.     The team have continued with patrols at target times and will continue to engage with youths and their families to address the issues. Families are responding well and reports have decreased throughout May. We will continue to monitor and patrol the affected areas.     UPDATE MAY 2010
    The team have continued to patrol these areas at target times. We are still engaged with several young people and there families in an attempt to deal with this issue with our partners. As always we will initially try to get people identified in Anti Social Behaviour to agree to address this themselves. We will continue to monitor calls to the area and patrol them to reduce this problem. If you have any information that would help to identify individuals responsible please contact any of the team.

    UPDATE APRIL 2010
    High visibility patrols were undertaken to deter offenders. A number of persons were dealt with in respect of anti-social behaviour on Glencairn Drive and Aspley Lane.Parents notified and warnings issued.

  • Speeding vehicles   Show details
    CURRENT UPDATE OCTOBER 2010
    It was agreed at the September Local Action Group Meeting that speeding would be taken off as a priority. This is because speeding is an ongoing problem that will be policed by traffic managemnt and response and traffic police throughout the year. Updates will be given at monthly meetings.

    The work to deter speeding drivers is ongoing, with beat officers, response and traffic management. Speeding operations will continue on key roads in the area. In addition, response officers at Broxtowe are aware of the speeding issue in the area as a whole and have conducted their own checks.

    UPDATE JULY 2010
    Speeding continues to be a priority for the community and police have continued to patrol the area to deter offenders. We continue to consult with traffic management and they have been invited to attend the LAG meeting scheduled for August. Officers have conducted various speeding operation and several drivers have been warned in relation to speeding. The speeding operation is ongoing and will continue throughout July and August. If you would like to take part in the speeding operation please contact one of your beat team members and you could help police assist catching speeding motorists in your community.

    UPDATE JUNE 2010
    This remains a priority for the Community and we continue to patrol this area to deter offenders. We are currently in consultation with traffic management to see if there are any traffic calming measures to address this. We will invite them to a LAG meeting to discuss this issue with the members. We will update you when we have further information.
    UPDATE JUNE 2010
    Several speeding operations have been carried out during May and will continue throughout June and plans for further operations are ongoing. So far, two offenders have been fined for speeding and others speeders have been deterred by the presence of the Police van and speed gun. We will continue to patrol the area at target times and discuss the issue at our next LAG meeting.

    Our Solution
    No solution as such. Will be an ongoing problem that will require response, arvs and traffic officers to enforce. It has been agreed that community will recieve regular updates at the LAG meetings.
  • Anti-social behaviour on King George V Park   Show details
    King George V Playing Field will remain a priority for the beat team because of the previous ASB problems occuring in and around the park since the park was refurbished in 2010. The problem is youths congregating in the park causing damage to furnishings and assaults and thefts from other youngster.

    Our Response
    Current update October 2011

    There has been a significant decrease in ASB on King George V Playing Field throughout September. The beat team will continue to monitor the park and surrounding area but now the darker nights are upon us the park seems relatively quiet. There has been a significant decrease in ASB due to the intervenion of the team and high visibility patrols and and targetting offenders responsible.

  • Nuisance motorcycles   Show details
    This was previously a problem in the summer and was less of an issue towards the end of 2010, but we are aware of a small number of reports of motor cycle and quad bike nuisance on King George V Playing Field in recent weeks.

    The noise and the dangerous, inconsiderate and illegal manner in which the bikes are being ridden are causing a nuisance and annoyance to legitimate park users.

    CURRENT UPDATE AUGUST 2011
    Incidents have reduced.This month has been relatively quiet month particularly towards the end of July due to the closure of the schools for the summer break. The beat team have managed to patrol the area on a daily basis and have not come across any incidents to note as such. King George V Playing Field continues to thrive with activity during the summer months and as a result, there is still a small amount of criminal activity that continues to be monitored by the beat team.
    UPDATE JULY 2011
    5 incidents relating to vehicle nuisance on King George V Playing Field identifying it as a hot spot for ASB thus making it a priority for the beat team. There have been several reports of Quad Bikes, vehicles and Mopeds on the field. As always any information received will be treated in confidence.We will always prosecute any offenders.
