Beat Update
CURRENT UPDATE FEBRUARY 2012
Reviewing the performance of the Beat area over the past year shows that crime figures have had a slight increase compared to the previous year. There have been some great reductions around Burglary, currently down by over 18% year to date. Robbery is also down by over 57%, together with Burglary other which is down by over 34%. However increases in other areas of crime have affected the performance overall. Vehicle crime is up by over 83%, Theft is up by over 40%, and violence against the person is up by over 15%.We had a couple of significant periods over the year with sharp increase in incidents. July 2011 saw an increase in vehicle crime across the whole Broxtowe area including Bells Lane. To tackle this we introduced targeted patrols, offender management, and partnership working to ensure offenders were disrupted, and arrested.
January has shown that we have had further reports of vehicle crime with 6 incidents. The cold weather has resulted in vehicles being stolen whilst left running. We have also had incidents of Scooters being stolen. Please ensure vehicles are not left insecure , or unattended .
We have had an excellent month with 24 Drugs Warrants being executed across the whole area. Over £103,000 worth of controlled Drugs seized. We continue to work closely with our partners to ensure anyone convicted is evicted from their property.
We are trying to encourage the Alert system in the area. By registering with Alert you will receive up to date information from us to help you prevent crime by being aware of what is happening in your area. Linking you with your Neighbourhood Policing team and making sure were all working together to make Bells Lane safer.
If you have any concerns or witness any suspicious activity please do not hesitate to contact us at the earliest opportunity to investigate the matter.
