Beat Update
CURRENT UPDATE FEBRUARY 2012
Bilborough beat area has shown some great reductions in SAC over the past year. This is a continued reduction year on year. January this year produced a good month with a 40% reduction on reported crime compared to January last year.
Bilborough has seen a reduction of over 40% in Serious Acquisitive crime compared to 2010 – 2011
Burglary down by over 38% - Robbery down by over 20% - Vehicle crime down by over 42%
Burglary other down by over 28% - Damage down by over 4%.
The only areas of increased numbers are around theft up 24%, and violence up by over 18%.Much of the reported violence is linked to Domestic related incidents were the offender and victim are known to each other. Currently the NPT manage the risk of a significant number of domestic violence victims. This does have an impact on the team’s capacity to deal with some other matters.
During January the only location for repeat offences were shown as Staverton road which suffered two Burglaries. No other areas were identified as repeat locations for crime or anti social behaviour.
Birchover road and Community Centre continue to be the focus for our ASB patrols including Operation Cacogen. It has seen a reduction in the number of calls received. The team are actively involved with all locations that have been identified as repeat callers, be it due to vulnerability because of mental health issues, repeat ASB, or suffering Domestic violence.
We have had a great month with 24 Drugs Warrants executed in January. Over £103,000 worth of Drugs seized and numerous arrests made. We continue to work with our partners to ensure anyone convicted is evicted from the property.
We are trying to encourage residents to join the FREE Neighbourhood Alert system in the area. By registering with Neighbourhood Alert you will receive up to date information from us to help you prevent crime by being aware of what is happening in your area. Linking you with your Neighbourhood Policing Team and making sure were all working together to make Bilborough safer.
