  • Anti-social Behaviour - Bilborough College   Show details
    Concerns have been raised about the increasing number of incidents of anti-social behaviour from local youths towards students at Bilborough College.

    Our Response
    Extra patrols have been put in place at the key times when students have been intimidated by local youths. CCTV is being monitored and stop check powers will be utilised to build an intelligence picture of what offences are being committed by identified suspects. A meeting with staff at the college has also been arranged to progress a solution.

    Our Solution
    As a result of uniformed patrols at target times, incidents of Anti-social behaviour have reduced.Several individuals were stopped and spoken to and warned about there behaviour.This will be monitored and actioned should the problem return.
  • Vehicle related nuisance Westwick Road J/W Birchover Road   Show details
    Local residents have expressed their concern regarding anti-social behaviour.This is as a direct result of Youths riding Motorbikes around the area.

    Our Response
    This will be dealt with through patrols to deter this behaviour. Any persons found committing offences will be dealt with accordingly.

    Consultation with our partner agencies to try and resolve this problem long term.

    Our Solution
    As a result of increasing patrols in the identified areas, information has led to a number of mini motos being seized from people. Following consultation with local residents it has been agreed that the number of incidents has reduced significantly. As a result we have closed this priority down. However we will continue to monitor this situation, and address again should the problem return.
  • Speeding Vehicles   Show details
    Local residents have been concerned with the number of vehicles speeding along residential roads within the Bilborough area breaking the speed limit.
    Roads identified include Birchover Road, Bracebridge Drive, Bramerton Road, Glaisdale Drive and Wigman Road.

    Our Response
    CURRENT UPDATE MAY 2010 –
    During April the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were involved in three more operations whereby the mobile speed gun was used and successful in catching a number of motorists, which were prosecuted.
    It was agreed at the last Local Area Group (LAG) meeting held on Thursday 29th April 2010 that this priority could now be completed, as this is more of a continual ongoing project.

    APRIL 2010
    Two speeding operations have been conducted since this issue was raised at the last Local Area Group (LAG) meeting, when this priority was started.
    There are plans in place for more of these operations to continue into the future.
    So far this month one motorist has been issued with a speeding ticket, whilst the presence of the mobile speed gun appears to be a good deterrent.
    Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to patrol these areas to address this priority.

    Our Solution

  • Anti-social behaviour -Melbury Road   Show details
    There have been reports of anti-social behaviour taking place in Melbury Road, with youth hanging around the area.

    Our Response
    High visibility patrols are being conducted at key time. Partner agencies, including the Housing Office are involved in identifying offenders and gathering intelligence to enable positive action to take place.

    Our Solution
    Due to increased patrols in the area the number of youths that had been congregating have now stopped causing any problems and local residents are not reporting any further problems. Patrols will continue in this area and be closely monitored over the foreeable future.
  • Anti-Social behaviour on Graylands Road   Show details
    As a result of information given to us by local residents at our public meetings, we have been told that there have been a number of youths congregating in the area and drinking. This often leads to damage being caused to property, and has increased the fear of crime amongst local residents. This happens early most evenings near to the shop.

    Our Response
    OUR RESPONSE

    ·We will increase uniform presence from Police and our partners at Community Protection by patrolling these areas.

    ·We will direct Patrols to the area using intelligence led policing.

    ·We will work with our partners to increase diversionary opportunities for those aged under 18. In particular Youth Intervention, we will set up projects aimed at giving Young people in the area alternatives. This will be in partnership with our Schools, Extended Schools Services, and Youth Services.

    ·Where premises are identified as selling alcohol to underage persons we will mount test purchase operations.

    ·We will make use of CCTV cameras at hotspots to gather evidence and discourage anti social behaviour.

    ·We will consider making use of civil alternatives for example, Acceptable behaviour contracts and antisocial behaviour orders being made at court.

    ·We will respond to calls in relation to anti social behaviour on a more frequent basis and attend as urgent (60 minutes) or immediate (15 minutes) dependant upon the severity of the behaviour at the time.

    ·Where individuals are seen and spoken to on the street all information will be passed to our partners at community protection and Housing for action.

    ·We will work with housing officers from Nottingham City Homes, private landlords to invoke measures to deal with issues relating to tenants causing Anti Social Behaviour.


    CURRENT UPDATE April 2010 -
    At the last LAG meeting, which was held on 11 March 2010, it was decided that this is no longer an issue and the amount of anti-social behaviour has decreased since it became a priority in January 2009.
    The Bilborough Neighbourhood Policing Team have as a result continued to show a high visibility presence and in conjunction with Nottingham City Council have issued a number of Anti-social behaviour contracts to individuals causing the majority of problems.
    As also reported Trading standards have been working with police officers and have conducted a number of successful test purchasing operations.
    We will however continue to monitor the situation and will respond accordingly.

    March 2010 -
    Incidents in this location continue to remain low and officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be consulting with local residents at the next (LAG) Local Area Group meeting to discuss this matter further.

    Feb 2010 –
    Incidents have reduced dramatically over the recent months. To continue with the reduced level of incidents, officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams have arranged a number of operations to be run in the area. This will see officers from the Special Constabulary deployed alongside local officers, to offer reassurance to local residents.
    The local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be consulting with local residents at the next public meeting to discuss this matter further. Please see details of this meeting on the events section of the Bilborough Beat page. We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our partners to maintain this positive result.

    Jan 2010 – As a result of stepping up our patrols in the area, together with positive action being taken in partnership with our colleagues in Nottingham City Homes, and the Anti Social Behaviour team. Incidents have reduced dramatically over the recent months. Several Anti Social Behaviour Contracts (ABC’s) have been agreed, and warnings issued. The local safer neighbourhood team will be consulting with local residents at the next public meeting to discuss this matter further. We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our partners to maintain this positive result

    As a result of concerns raised at a LAG meeting held on 30/06/2011.You have told us that there have been a number of youths aged between 13 to 17 years of age congregating in the area of Hoylake Crescent, and Chidlow road. They are gathering most evenings between 5.30pm until 11pm.This often leads to rowdy behaviour and damage being caused to property.This has increased the fear of crime amongst local residents.

    Our Response
    CURRENT UPDATE OCTOBER 2011
    The priority for Bilborough is currently anti-social behaviour at the junction of Chidlow Road and Hoylake Crescent, with the introduction of mini motos in this area as well. The Neighbourhood Policing Teams have continued to patrol these areas. This was agreed at the Lag meeting held on 30th June 2011and again on the 8th September 2011, as well as Melford Road and more recently Melbury Road being added into the equation.

    Beat Managers Comments:
    During September the NPT have conducted numerous patrols around the schools in the area since they started back from the six week holidays.
    There has been a number of multi-agency discussions into addressing some of the more specific addresses and some good progress can now be seen in the area.
    There is still a lot more work to be done and this is currently being progressed as we speak.

    There are a number of motorbikes that continue to cause problems in the area and these are being looked into. If anyone has any information about these individuals making people's lives a misery, please get in touch in the strictest of confidence, so we can get these individuals off the road.

  • Anti-Social Behaviour - Nuisance Vehicles   Show details
    As a result of concerns raised at a recent LAG meeting held on 17/06/2010.You have told us that there have been a number of youths riding around dangerously on motorbikes and mopeds in excess of the speed limit around the area of Bilborough. This has caused anger amongst local residents.

    Our Response
    CURRENT UPDATE JANUARY 2011
    Bracebridge Drive: Mainly vehicle related nuisance.
    During November I have included patrols around this location to show a high visibility presence.
    UPDATE: No further calls received about vehicle related incidents. To monitor.

    UPDATE DECEMBER 2010
    I am also planning to conduct plain clothes patrols in these areas under Operation Cerberus and Cacogen around the identified areas listed above as there have been regular high visibility patrols in these areas over recent months. This is a change of tactics to see if we have any positive results of capturing any offenders for ASB.
    However due to the recent poor weather conditions incident have reduced.We will continue to monitor the situation.
    UPDATE NOVEMBER 2010
    Melford Road: Local youths causing problems on mopeds and mini motorbikes and a couple of vehicles damaged on this street. Work is currently underway am occupant on Melford Road who’s vehicle has been damaged a couple of times. Pc Naylor is currently working with Mel Frettwell on this matter and will be monitored through the NAT meeting.
    Bracebridge Drive: Mainly vehicle related nuisance.

    Our Solution
    This has not been mentioned by residents at the last couple of LAG meetings and there have been very few incidents reported. It has been decided to close this priority in order to focus our efforts on more current issues. Incidents have reduced and we will continue to monitor reports and deal with offenders positively
    If this is brought up in any future LAG meetings then I will consider re-opeing this priority.
