Broxtowe

Back to Broxtowe and Wollaton

The Broxtowe Police Beat is defined by the boundaries of Broxtowe Lane, Coleby Road, Lindfield Road inclusive of Broxtowe Country Park, Westleigh Road, Colchester Road and Honiton Road. The beat has three community centres, Six Ways Community Centre, The Phoenix Centre and The Hope Centre that welcome all local residents. Also situated on the beat is the local library, which can be located on Broxtowe Lane next to several of the local stores that are available including a supermarket and post office.

Under the Policing Pledge, this is an urban beat and has a 15 minute emergency response time. For an explanation of what this means click here.

On 4 July 2011, PC Piggott and PCSO Guise got their hands dirty when they attended a litter pick and Estate inspection.  Click here to read further details.

Beat Update

CURRENT UPDATE FEBRUARY 2012
The crime figures for January are in line with previous months with no marked increases. The number of incidents of criminal damage has fallen dramatically since October 2011. At that time we recorded 23 offences and at the present time we are recording 8 offences.
We have worked hard to implement controlling measures on our main young offenders in the area that we believe were causing the majority of criminal damage and vehicle crime. As a result of this our most prolific offender, is currently on remand until the 3rd of February when he will appear at court for burglary.
Other offenders are all currently bound by bail conditions after being arrested for vehicle crime earlier this month. All are on a curfew between the hours of 9pm and 7am and this has made Broxtowe a much quieter place, and has been clear to see when we have been conducting our evening patrols.

Looking ahead I can foresee Broxtowe Country Park becoming an attraction for off road motorcycles again which is responsible for a large number of complaints throughout the summer months and school holidays. In response to this I have been successful in securing the off-road motorcycle police team :

We have had a fantastic month in January with regard to Drugs Warrants. 24 Warrants were executed in January across the whole area. Over £103,000 worth of controlled drugs seized. We have made numerous arrests and continue to work with our partners to ensure eviction for those convicted.

We are trying to encourage the Alert system in the area. By registering with Alert you will receive up to date information from us to help you prevent crime by being aware of what is happening in your area. Linking you with your Neighbourhood Policing team and making sure were all working together to make Broxtowe safer.

If you have any concerns or witness any suspicious activity please do not hesitate to contact us at the earliest opportunity to investigate the matter.
