Beat Priorities
Through consultation with the members of the public in this beat we regularly set out a number of priorities to be tackled.
- ILLEGAL DRUGS PRODUCTION AND SUPPLY Show details
Information and evidence gained form the community and partners working with the police suggests that the production of illegal drugs; mainly cannabis is a problem on Bells lane estate. This is linked to drugs misuse within the wider community of Nottingham and problems of anti social behaviour. Houses are being used to produce cannabis and supply cannabis.
Our Response
Our Response
Operation Barnstormer has been set up to tackle the drug problem. A team of Police Officers and PCSOs who are based at Broxtowe Police Station and who have knowledge of the community problems are working in partnership with Nottingham City Homes and Community Protection to tackle the issue. We also use Crime Stoppers and community intelligence to support our actions. The result is that we execute warrants and arrest people involved in this illegal activity. In addition to criminal prosecution we use civil case law and initiate tenancy proceedings to evict the offending people from Nottingham City owned homes.
CURRENT UPDATE 06/09/2010
Barnstormer has been executing warrants once again in your area.
We have executed warrants on the following streets and have taken cannabis plants from every address.
Woodfield Road
Bidford Road
Broxtowe lane
Beckley Road
From these addresses we have seized and taken over 70 plants. Barnstormer are continuing to tackle the issue of drugs and with your help we can make September and October even more successful.
If you dont want to speak to police but have information, crimestoppers operate 24 hours a day. Please give us a call.
UPDATE 01/08/2010
We have had a very successful month with several warrants being executed in the estate. We are going to continue to target anyone who is dealing or possessing drugs in the area as we aim to tackle this problem. Please support us with this as we work to make Broxtowe a better place to work and live. Together we can make a difference to the future of the estate.
UPDATE 15/07/2010
Operation Barnstormer is again showing how successful it is being in the community. We have had successful warrants in the area and recovered drugs from several houses. Without the intelligence and information we would not be able to do this. This is helping us work with housing to evict people from their homes and to change the public perception. Please continue to support us with this. Remember together we can make a difference.
UPDATE 02/06/2010
Again we are requesting your assistance throughout the month of June to combat drugs in the Broxtowe Estate. We need intelligence and information in order to build on the recent success that Barnstormer has had.
We are working hard with Nottingham City Homes to tackle and evict offenders from their homes. Please continue to support us. Together we can make Broxtowe a better place to live.
UPDATE 12/05/2010
Once again it has been a successful month for Operation Barnstormer. Warrants have been executed on Woodfield Road, Campbell Close and Westleigh Road in the last month with Class B drugs being found and seized as well as hydroponic equipment being seized. Please continue to support us by providing information and intelligence. Officers are always on hand to take your calls. Therefore you can either call us on 03003009999 or on one of the Operation Barnstormer mobiles on 07595074340. We look forward to taking your calls.

- Anti Social Behaviour Lindfield Road and The Rocks Show details
We have received reports from local residents in the area through their attendance at our local LAG meetings and street briefings that there are constant problems with youths on Lindfield Road. The youths are causing noise issues and are underage drinking on the streets. The problem period appears to be between the times on 7 pm and 9 pm daily and this is having an effect on residents as they are avoiding leaving their addresses during this time as they wish to avoid any confrontation
Our Response
By working with other agencies such as the ASB Team we are targeting the problems, which are occurring and trying to resolve them in a productive manner. By speaking with the youths we are encouraging them to attend local youth centres and to help out in their community. We have high Visibility patrols, which are regularly being conducted by the local team, and we encourage residents to communicate with us whilst we are out and about in the community. We are working together to identify individuals that are causing the problems and so that we can prevent further issues.
CURRENT UPDATE 06/09/2010
As a team we have been working hard to tackle the ASB problem in the area. We have had late night patrols from not only the local CPOs but we have also had Operation Cerebus in the area. This appears to be working and I can report that ASB has dropped in the area over the last month. We rely on the public to inform us of any issues or problems so please call us. If we know that there are certain times or areas, which are being targeted, then we will work to solve this problem.
UPDATE 01/08/2010
The NEW Youth Group has now been open two weeks and has been extremely successful. We are working to extend the amount of evenings that it opens in order to offer further events for the teenagers in the estate. Groups of youths are being dispersed and extra visibility patrols are taking place throughout the estate. If you are having problems then please call us and we will do what we can to solve the problem.
UPDATE 15/07/2010
We have a new youth group opening on a Wednesday evening to help combat antisocial behaviour in the area at The Hope Centre, Broxtowe. It will be opening between the hours of 6-9.30pm and will be accessible to children over 14years. There will be computers, music equipment; gym equipment plus lots more activities. If you have children or know of any young people that may be interested then please pop into the Hope Centre for information. We are keen to tackle the ASB issue and hope that by providing some extra provisions we can start to tackle this. It is extremely important that we know where you are having issues so that we can work together to tackle them. If you are feeling vulnerable or effected by this issue then please pick up the phone and contact one of the team.
UPDATE 02/06/2010
ASB is an issue, which is very important to Broxtowe Residents. We realise that we need extra activities in the area for the local youth and therefore are in the process of setting up an extra youth group at the Hope Centre. We would like to invite the local community to help us with this and if you would like extra information then please contact one of the team. Patrols have been increased as we realise that the community want to see us for reassurance. If you have an area which you feel is being effected by ASB then please let your local beat team know so we can do something about the issue and tackle it head on.
UPDATE 10/05/2010
We would firstly like to thank you for your continued support as it is very clear that the public want to stamp out the ASB issue. Please continue to keep calling us and informing us of any issues in your area. Patrols are being conducted at key times during the day to ensure that we are where you need us. We have been very successful so far in working with Nottingham City Homes to target the issue. Please help us to help you.
- CRIMINAL DAMAGE Show details
Linked to our community priority of Anti Social Behaviour, we have recieved information from residents via our LAG meetings and street briefings that there is a problem of low level criminal damage in the area. This is mainly damage to fencing, gardens, grafitti, smashed windows and damage to unoccupied houses. The main areas which are being targeted are Lindfield Road, Denton Green and Coleby Road and this is taking place randomly throughout the day. Residents have voiced concern especially with empty propertys that are being vandalised as it is having an effect on the appearance of the area.
Our Response
Criminal damage remains a priority for the policing teams at Broxtowe. PCSO Paul Guise is working with our partners Nottingham City Homes to reduce the impact and perception of damage caused to unoccupied houses on the estate. We would like your cooperation and participation so that we know exactly where we can improve the area. We are also working with our partners to offer youth diversion and engagement opportunities such as the Broxtowe Partnership trust.
CURRENT UPDATE 06/09/2010
We continue to drive our campaign on damage in the area. Any damage that is reported to us is immediately reported to the relevant agencies to be either fixed or replaced. Woodlands CCTV are constantly monitoring the area and wherever possible offenders are identified and dealt with for the criminal matters.
UPDATE 01/08/2010
Criminal Damage has risen to 8% compared to this time last year. We are currently working with Nottingham City Homes and the Community Protection team to tackle this problem. Late night patrols will be taking place and anyone who is out and about will be stopped and spoken to. Again we request that if you have information on who is causing damage then please pick up the phone and give us a call. We now have the new youth group up and running and we hope that this offer some diversion as well as Six Ways on Denton Green.
UPDATE 15/07/2010
Criminal damage is currently down by 4.5% compared to this time last year. Although this is good I would like us to work together to improve on these figures. We are constantly having patch walks with council and housing and would like you as the public to report incidents to us. We invite you to speak to us on these patch walks so that we can be informed of any problem areas. I will post the next patch walk so that residents have this date in their diaries.
UPDATE 02/06/2010
I am pleased to inform you that we are currently 12 % down on criminal damage since this time this year. This reflects the good work that we are doing as a community. Nottingham City Homes have been working with us very closely to deal with empty properties and the state of fences and gardens to improve the area. This seems to be deterring offenders from committing further damage. Please continue to inform us of any problem areas so we can challenge offenders and tackle the problem head on.
UPDATE 10/05/2010
Our continued efforts in reducing damage in the area are paying off. However we have seen a slight increase in damage this month. The good weather and light evenings has seen a few incidents of fires being set on the Broxtowe Country Park.
Regular High Visibility patrols are taking place for community reassurance in the area and the council are working alongside us to improve the area. This has included patch walks with local council and housing (please see events list) to find out the nature and extent of the problem.
By working together we are making Broxtowe a brighter place to live and work. Please continue to support us as we can reduce the amount of damage in the area.
