  • Anti-social Behaviour   Show details
There have been reports of anti-social behaviour being committed in Broxtowe Lane, around the shops.

    Our Response
High visibility patrols will be conducted at the key times when this is taking place. Lack of youth provision is being assessed and the Safer Neighbourhood Team are working with partner agencies, and youth workers to improve the services for young people, and give them opportunities to get involved in community initiatives.

    Our Solution
Offenders sent warning letters. Hi viz patrols around the area, community protection involvement. Problem ceased.
  • Anti-social Behaviour   Show details
Concerns have been raised about the increasing number of incidents of anti-social behaviour in Broxtowe Country Park, including the use of mini motorbikes and non-road legal bikes.

    Our Response
Increased visibility patrols will be conducted by the Safer Neighbourhood Team and the off-road bike team will be utilised to target offenders, issue Section 59 notices, seize vehicles and gain intelligence. Local residents are to be engaged with, to establish who has these bikes and where they are being stored.

    Our Solution
Offenders have been issued with Section 59 warning letters due to the manner of their driving. Mini motorbikes have been seized, Because of current weather conditions the problem has ceased. This problem is usually seasonal.
  • Anti-social Behaviour   Show details
Local youths are committing anti-social behaviour and drinking alcohol in Withern Road, Frinton and Beckley Road.

    Our Response
Extra patrols have been put in place to monitor the situation. Community members are helping to identify key problem times and main offenders. CCTV will also be used to highlight issues.

    Our Solution
This is no longer a problem in this area. Following intervention of uniformed staff on hi viz patrols, the youths have been dispersed from the area.
  • Anti Social Behaviour Lindfield Road and The Rocks   Show details
We have received reports from local residents in the area through their attendance at our local LAG meetings and street briefings that there are constant problems with youths on Lindfield Road. The youths are causing noise issues and are underage drinking on the streets. The problem period appears to be between the times on 7 pm and 9 pm daily and this is having an effect on residents as they are avoiding leaving their addresses during this time as they wish to avoid any confrontation

    Our Response
By working with other agencies such as the ASB Team we are targeting the problems, which are occurring and trying to resolve them in a productive manner. By speaking with the youths we are encouraging them to attend local youth centres and to help out in their community. We have high Visibility patrols, which are regularly being conducted by the local team, and we encourage residents to communicate with us whilst we are out and about in the community. We are working together to identify individuals that are causing the problems and so that we can prevent further issues.

    CURRENT UPDATE AUGUST 2011
There were a total of 45 Rowdy / Nuisance calls recorded throughout the whole of July 2011. Lindbridge Road, Lindfield Road and Woodfield Road continue to be the current hotspots. Reviewing all the incidents for the month show that there have been very few reports of ASB involving problem youths in the area. Historically youths have continued to gather at the Rocks area of Broxtowe Country Park which has been a major problem however this now seems to have stopped. The Beat Team is regularly out on high visibility patrol in the hotspot areas on bikes which is a major deterrent to ASB.

    UPDATE JULY 2011
A review the month’s incidents show that there have been very few reports of ASB involving problem youths in the area. The Beat Team is regularly out patrolling the area on bikes which is deterring the bad behaviour.

  • CRIMINAL DAMAGE   Show details
Linked to our community priority of Anti Social Behaviour, we have recieved information from residents via our LAG meetings and street briefings that there is a problem of low level criminal damage in the area. This is mainly damage to fencing, gardens, grafitti, smashed windows and damage to unoccupied houses. The main areas which are being targeted are Lindfield Road, Denton Green and Coleby Road and this is taking place randomly throughout the day. Residents have voiced concern especially with empty propertys that are being vandalised as it is having an effect on the appearance of the area.

    Our Response
Criminal damage remains a priority for the policing teams at Broxtowe. PCSO Paul Guise is working with our partners Nottingham City Homes to reduce the impact and perception of damage caused to unoccupied houses on the estate. We would like your cooperation and participation so that we know exactly where we can improve the area. We are also working with our partners to offer youth diversion and engagement opportunities such as the Broxtowe Partnership trust.

    CURRENT UPDATE JANUARY 2011

There were a total of 11 incidents of Criminal Damage recorded throughout December 2010 compared to a total of 7 incidents recorded for the same period in December 2009. This is a 28% increase month to date. Year to date however there has been a 16% reduction in incidents of recordable criminal damage. Main hotspot areas for criminal damage are Beckley Road, Frinton Road and Withern Road. We will continue to pay attention to these roads throughout the month of january to drive out crime from the area.

    CURRENT UPDATE NOVEMBER 2010
Residents have reported ongoing incidents at Denton Green Broxtowe regarding local youths setting fires one of which destroyed a virgin phone point subsequently resulting in the loss of services to households and the community centre. Ongoing repairs are taking some time to complete. As a result of loss of phones the public have to use the public call box but this was damaged by fire a few days later. These offences are still under investigation and any information about them would be gratefully received.
    UPDATE 10/10/2010

Criminal Damage is slowly coming down again we have seen a -3% reduction. We are still working with Woodlands CCTV who monitors the area. Again we request that if you have information on who is causing damage then please pick up the phone and give us a call.

    UPDATE 06/09/2010
We continue to drive our campaign on damage in the area. Any damage that is reported to us is immediately reported to the relevant agencies to be either fixed or replaced. Woodlands CCTV are constantly monitoring the area and wherever possible offenders are identified and dealt with for the criminal matters.

    UPDATE 01/08/2010

Criminal Damage has risen to 8% compared to this time last year. We are currently working with Nottingham City Homes and the Community Protection team to tackle this problem. Late night patrols will be taking place and anyone who is out and about will be stopped and spoken to. Again we request that if you have information on who is causing damage then please pick up the phone and give us a call. We now have the new youth group up and running and we hope that this offer some diversion as well as Six Ways on Denton Green.

    UPDATE 15/07/2010

Criminal damage is currently down by 4.5% compared to this time last year. Although this is good I would like us to work together to improve on these figures. We are constantly having patch walks with council and housing and would like you as the public to report incidents to us. We invite you to speak to us on these patch walks so that we can be informed of any problem areas. I will post the next patch walk so that residents have this date in their diaries.

    UPDATE 02/06/2010

I am pleased to inform you that we are currently 12 % down on criminal damage since this time this year. This reflects the good work that we are doing as a community. Nottingham City Homes have been working with us very closely to deal with empty properties and the state of fences and gardens to improve the area. This seems to be deterring offenders from committing further damage. Please continue to inform us of any problem areas so we can challenge offenders and tackle the problem head on.

    UPDATE 10/05/2010

Our continued efforts in reducing damage in the area are paying off. However we have seen a slight increase in damage this month. The good weather and light evenings has seen a few incidents of fires being set on the Broxtowe Country Park.
Regular High Visibility patrols are taking place for community reassurance in the area and the council are working alongside us to improve the area. This has included patch walks with local council and housing (please see events list) to find out the nature and extent of the problem.
By working together we are making Broxtowe a brighter place to live and work. Please continue to support us as we can reduce the amount of damage in the area.

    Our Solution
There has been a reduction for criminal damage and the local LAG no longer see this as a priority. We have gone to great efforts with coucil and housing to improve the area and this seems to have paid off. This proirity was set up to deal with an increase in damage to fences, walls and empty dwellings. This has been reduced together with the partners by increased patrols , engaging young people in the new youth club, and a recent initiative to get local children involved in fixing broken fence panels.
  • ILLEGAL DRUGS PRODUCTION AND SUPPLY   Show details
Information and evidence gained form the community and partners working with the police suggests that the production of illegal drugs; mainly cannabis is a problem on Bells lane estate. This is linked to drugs misuse within the wider community of Nottingham and problems of anti social behaviour. Houses are being used to produce cannabis and supply cannabis.

    Our Response
    Our Response

Operation Barnstormer has been set up to tackle the drug problem. A team of Police Officers and PCSOs who are based at Broxtowe Police Station and who have knowledge of the community problems are working in partnership with Nottingham City Homes and Community Protection to tackle the issue. We also use Crime Stoppers and community intelligence to support our actions. The result is that we execute warrants and arrest people involved in this illegal activity. In addition to criminal prosecution we use civil case law and initiate tenancy proceedings to evict the offending people from Nottingham City owned homes.

    CURRENT UPDATE JULY 2011
Two Drugs Warrants were executed in the Broxtowe area this month.
Within a period of 19 months, Operation Barnstormer has now completed 264 warrants and has taken over 2 million pounds of drugs off the street.
Within this time frame we have successfully removed 100 cannabis cultivations.

    UPDATE JUNE 2011
There were 5 drugs warrants executed on the estate during the month, where seizures were made we are:
Working with Nottingham City Housing to review tenancy and evictions and in many cases working with the electricity supplier to recover fees for fraudulent use of power.

Within a period of 18 months, Operation Barnstormer has now completed 253 warrants and has taken 1,988,600 million pounds of drugs off the street.
Within this time frame we have successfully removed 95 cannabis cultivations.
