Beat Update

CURRENT UPDATE FEBRUARY 2012
Performance for the period of 2011 – 2012 has shown some good reductions in certain areas. Burglary is down by over 6% - Vehicle crime down by over 17% - Damage is down by over 7% - Fraud is down by over 50% compared to 2010 -2011. These good results have been affected by a rise in other areas of crime. Burglary other has increased by over 46% - Violence has shown an increase of over 20%. Theft and handling is up by over 19%. Research has shown that much of the reported violence can be linked to domestic violence were the victims and offender are known to each other. We continue to visit each crime reported in order to offer prevention advice and patrol areas identified as repeat offence locations to deter further incidents.
January has been a good month with regard to reported crime with no significant increases or spikes reported. It would appear that the main area for offending this month is Denewood Crescent, which has suffered 3 criminal damage, 3 auto crime, and 2 ASB related incidents this month. The NPT will with our partners continue to focus on this area with increased patrols, crime prevention, and positive action. Work to be completed regarding incident times on Deenewood Crescent in order to best target our patrols. Alert registration to be pushed in this area together with public priority survey.

We have been very busy and conducted 24 Drugs Warrants over the whole area in January. Over £103,000 worth of controlled Drugs have been seized. We continue to work with our partners to ensure that anyone convicted is also evicted.

We are trying to encourage the Alert system in the area. By registering with Alert you will receive up to date information from us to help you prevent crime by being aware of what is happening in your area. Linking you with your Neighbourhood Policing team and making sure were all working together to make Denewood safer.

If you have any concerns or witness any suspicious activity please do not hesitate to contact us at the earliest opportunity to investigate the matter.
