    Our Solution
Since the park bench was moved in September 2010 there have been no further problems on the area.

  • Speeding Traffic   Show details
An increasing amount of vehicles have been speeding around Parkside and the surrounding area.

    Our Response
Speed guns will be used to tackle drivers in the area travelling over the 20mph limit. Prosecution notices for those caught will be sent out. High visibility patrols will also take place.

    Our Solution
The SNT have conducted regular patrols of the area including use of the speed gun to deter motorists exceeding the speed limit. All relevant bodies including the NCC and Road Safety Departments have also been consulted however, the Council have declined to put signage on the Bramcote Lane junction with Parkside advising of the restrictions on Parkside as they consider this to be 'sign clutterage'.
The SNT will continue to patrol this area to deter motorists from exceeding the speed limits imposed.

Complaints of speeding vehicles on Grangewood Road on a regular basis.Between the rush hour times.

  • Parking Bramcote Lane shops   Show details
Complaints about people using the parking spaces whilst not visiting the local shops.
This reduces the number of spaces available to genuine customers of the shops.

    Our Response
Liason with the shops along Bramcote Lane. Consultation with the Council to see what methods can be put in place to reduce this problem for local people.

    Our Solution
This has been fed through to the local council. Signs are to be reinstated in the area in the near future. This will then be monitored by Council wardens. The priority has been discussed at the last public meeting and it has been agreed to close it as an issue. However the situation will continue to be monitored.
  • Speeding Vehicles on Parkside   Show details
As a result of a recent LAG meeting held on 06/01/2010.The local community has decided that vehicles ignoring a 20MPH speed limit along Parkside should become a Neighbourhood priority.
The probem occours at all times due to the fact that there are insufficient traffic signs at this location.

    Our Response
Your Neighbourhood Policing team will liase with Traffic Management department. This will be to assess the current signage and clarify the 20MPH boundary.
Once the signage issues have been addressed, we will then be in a position to enforce the limit along this road. In the mean time will carry out patrols in the area and advise motorists accordingly.
    CURRENT UPDATE MARCH 2010
Members of the Road Safety Department of Nottingham City Council attended the Wollaton West LAG held on 9/3/2010 and discussed with residents their concerns regarding the 20 mph zone.
Road Safety outlined the initial intentions of the zone and gave a presentation regarding the options considered in applying the speed restrictions to the area. Road Safety confirmed that the 20 mph speed limit imposed is not enforcable.
Road Safety discussed with residents the signage for the zone and various cost implications but agreed to look at the signs on Bramcote Lane/ Wollaton Road, which are particularly difficult for motorists to see.
The LAG heard that the zone could be considered for upgrading to a 30 mph speed limit but that this would be at considerable cost and that there was good cause to believe that the current situation would not be improved by doing so.

The LAG agreed to close this item as a priority.
