Beat Update
27/04/2012
Hello residents of Bulwell Forest.
During the last Lag meeting at Colin Broughton Court on the 19/04/2012, local residents have requested drug dealing within Bulwell Forest be the priority they would like the police to continue to take action against.
In the last website update we reported actions the police have taken, and we will continue to tackle this problem and further updates regarding our actions will follow on the neighbourhood alert system.
With the light nights approaching Nottinghamshire police have received an increase in reports of nuisance motor bikes especially around the Southglade Leisure Centre site. Nottinghamshire police will continue with operations including the off road bike team to tackle these nuisance bikes and any bikes found that are being ridden illegally will be confiscated and possibly destroyed.
Again anti social behaviour issues around the Northcote Way and Deptford Crescent areas are decreasing and this is mainly due to the actions taken by the police and Nottingham City Homes patch mangers working in conjunction with local residents.
Residents have raised concerns regarding two main issues within the area these are dog fouling and cycling on the pavement. The community protection officers along with the SNT police officers based at Bulwell police station will continue to conduct operations to tackle these issue in the coming weeks.
Crime continues to fall within Bulwell Forest and the area has seen a recent decrease in Burglary dwelling, drug offences and theft and handling. There has however been a slight increase in vehicle crime, mainly related to criminal damage to vehicles within the area. Violent crime has seen a sharp decrease, and as of the 27/04/2012 Bulwell Forest has seen a 17% decrease in crime compared to the same period last year.
The safer neighbourhood team at Bulwell would ask all residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour regarding any concerns they may have within the area to Nottinghamshire police on the non emergency number 101, or call crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
