The Hempshill Vale Beat consists of approximately 2,100 households. It encompasses the locally known Astronaut's estate, the Crabtree Farm estate and the housing on both sides of Cinderhill Road, commencing from Coventry Road traffic island up to and including Garton Close on the left hand side and down the full length of the road on the right hand side including the Phoenix Park and ride site.

The area is serviced by two Local Education Authority primary schools called Hempshill Hall and Crabtree Farm Infant and Junior School.

There is a Community Centre and a Sure Start building within the Crabtree Farm estate and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is situated on Hemphill Lane.

This month’s crime figures remain low. There have been significant reductions in several of the crime areas, Burglary of other buildings and vehicle crime to name but two. The rest of the crime recording areas are also at a low level which is very positive.

Although the increase is very low (4 more offences than this time last year) there has been an increase in Drug related offences on the beat. Drugs are the route of a vast amount of issues and crimes covering the whole of the force area. If you sight any suspicious activity from individuals, vehicles or activity linked to residences then please call the police on 101 or 999 as appropriate. Crime Stoppers is a free and anonymous number that is of great assistance to the police if you do not wish to identify yourself. Your call can make all the difference and will undoubtedly form part of a bigger intelligence picture that can assist police and other agencies take action against the drug dealers in your area. Together we can make an impact on the drug related activity and provide all residents with a better and safer place to live.
