Arboretum and Forest Recreation Ground

Back to Canning Circus

Please note to ongoing changes your beat team is now located at Radford Road Police Station – information can be found by following link http://www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/local/nottingham_city/basfordhyson_green/basford_and_hyson_green/

The beat areas are currently being revised and local officers are now working to new boarders, if you contact a member of the team we will ensure your issues are addressed.

The Forest/Arboretum beat now consists of the area between Gregory Boulevard, Noel Street, Mount Hooten and Waverley Street, along Peel Street then joins back towards Gregory Boulevard via North Sherwood Street and Mansfield Road. The make up of this area is mainly the Forest Recreation Ground the home of the Goose Fair, the Arboretum and then the homes in and around the Boys and Girls High Schools. The neighbourhood policing team (NPT) covering this area is PC2969 Bruce Rainford, PCSO 4677 Pete Corten and CPO Luke Charlton.

The beat area located from Bentinck Road towards Gregory Boulevard has now merged with the rest of the Hyson Green area and includes everything up to Bobbers Mill Road. The boarders run along Alfreton Road and Radford Road. This has brought together the shopping area of Hyson Green which hosts a number of multi cultural shops and food outlets.

Details of other team members can be found on the following link as well as PCSO 8187 Oram who’s details are below - http://www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/local/nottingham_city/basfordhyson_green/basford_and_hyson_green/hyson_green/

This area includes the Mary Potter Centre which houses Nottingham City Homes, a number of NHS services, Sure Start and the Acorn Centre. There are also a number of Mosques, and Churches as well as 3 schools.

The mixture of social and private owned properties represent a diverse make up of the area which includes students, young families and residential homes for older people.

The local beat team continue to patrol the Radford Road area between Gregory Boulevard and Bentinck Road. We are working together with other agencies and continue to tackle traffic and parking issues as well as environmental issues. This is currently the local priority for the Arboretum Ward.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind visitors of the Forest Recreation Ground and Arboretum that the areas are within a designate no drinking zone. We encourage residents and visitors to enjoy the parks but drinking alcohol in this area is forbidden. Street drinking continues to be tackled by the beat team and alcohol confiscations and positive action will be taken for anyone drinking in the designated area.
