The Market Square Beat is at the centre of Nottingham City and has boundary rounds of Friar Lane, Derby Road, Talbot Street, Milton Street, South Parade, Victoria Street and George Street. It contains the Old Market Square, Council House, Cornerhouse Complex, Royal Concert Hall, Theatre Royal and Albert Hall.

Beat Update

Beat Update – February 2012

Throughout January, the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been out in force, having conducted 131 Stop/Stop Searches and 24 Alcohol Confiscations across the City Centre. There have also been 17 arrests made for various offences made by the Beat Manager Constables.

In total 488 calls were made to Nottinghamshire Police reporting incidents and information within the Old Market Square Beat Area during January.

The Old Market Square will be host a series of events throughout February, attracting large numbers of visitors.

The Nottingham Light Night will be running in and around the Old Market Square on the 10th Febrary 2012. Experience Nottingham in a new light and see a vast selection of fantastic events, activities and illuminations for persons of all ages. These actractions are situated all around the City Centre both indoor and outdoor.

On the 17th and 18th of February the Old Market Square will be host to the Fine Foods Market with the opportunity to get try and purchase wonderful foods created within the region.

Nottingham City Centre Crime Statistics

The crime figures results for the City Centre Beats (Old Market Square, Victoria Centre, Lace Market, Broadmarsh & Eastside) are down an impressive 20.2% in comparison to January 2011. That’s a total of 146 less crimes.

The Old Market Square Beat leads the way, down 70 offences in total.

Please be vigilant and ensure you don’t leave windows and doors open unnecessarily and without other security measures.
