Meet the divisional commander

Chief Supt Shaun Beebe

Shaun Beebe

After spending most of his policing career working in Nottingham, Chief Superintendent Shaun Beebe is passionate about the city and determined to reduce crime and make those who live, work and visit here, feel safer.

He became a police officer in 1993 and has both uniform and detective experience, serving at most stations across Nottingham.
A former local area commander for the city centre, he also been in charge of operational policing for the north of Nottingham before becoming divisional commander for the city in December 2007.

“I’ve spent the bulk of my service predominently in Nottingham and I’m passionate about making sure we provide a policing service for the people who live, work and visit here, that they deserve and expect.

“In Nottingham we have made significant progress in recent years reducing crime and the fear of crime. We are working hard to make Neighbourhood Policing successful and I know all officers share my determination to further reduce crime and antisocial behaviour.

“We work closely with Nottingham City Council, the Crime and Drugs Partnership and other agencies and that partnership is reaping rewards. We are now seeing the benefits of working closely with these organisations to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour.

“However, we are not complacent and realise that we must continue to develop our relationships with partners and communities alike, to build upon our achievements.

“Nottingham is a great city to live and work in; but it’s also a safe city too.”
