Beat Update
We value information which you have about crime and Anti Social Behaviour in the local area particularly relating to persons committing these acts.
The information received from the community of Giltbrook and Newthorpe is that you wanted your Beat team to address Anti Social Behaviour in the area, which is what we are doing.
The Anti Social Behaviour and criminal damage in the area has now reduced. Crime on the area has also seen reductions.
From April 1st 2011 to 30th September 2011 saw a 26% reduction in Giltbrook / Newthorpe of reported crimes compared to the same period in 2010.
From 1st October 2011 to 18th January 2012 had no increase in crime or any reduction in Giltbrook / Newthorpe of reported crimes compared to the same period in 2010.
Some crime prevention advice; as the winter weather approaches, please keep your windows closed where possible as open windows are targets for potential burglars. And always keep your doors locked, even when you are at home, and never leave items in unattended vehicles. Again, they might get stolen!
When defrosting your vehicle in the morning please don't leave unattended.

As a result the ASB has fallen again.
