Watnall is a small residential area, attached to Kimberley on one side and bordered by the M1 Motorway on the other side. The main road route running through the area is the B600. There are two public houses and a Post Office within Watnall but no town centre shopping area.

Situated on the B600 is Watnall Weather Station, which is still in operation.

Beat Update

December update for Watnall.

The safer neighbourhood team have been engaged in Operation Animism which is an operation in relation to anti social behaviour. We will be patrolling during the day into the evenings and this will continue into the New Year.

There has been 1 burglary, 3 vehicle crime and 0 criminal damage this December compared to December 2010.
The above low figures are good news for the residents of Watnall , BUT even one crime is one too many!

Further GOOD NEWS anti-social behaviour incidents have dropped from 10 last December to 6 this December.
Please remain vigilant and security conscious.

January 2012 Update

We are being told by the community of Watnall that the vehicle nusiance has increased.

Your local beat team will carry out random speed checks in Watnall using hand held speed cameras . This will result in a number of fines and warnings being issued.
From April the 1st 2011 to September the 30th 2011 saw an increase of 20 reported crimes compared to the same period in 2010.
From October the 1st 2011 to January the 19th 2012 saw an increase of 6 reported crimes compared to the same period in 2010.

Any information received by you, the local community, is a great help to us to keep these crime figures and incidents of Anti Social Behaviour down!
Some crime prevention advice, please keep unattended windows closed where possible as open windows are a target for potential burglars. Also please do not leave items unattended in vehicles as again these might get stolen.BE ALERT - JOIN THE COMMUNITY
