Stapleford South East

Completed Beat Priorities

  • Burglary   Show details
Out of the 324 Neighbourhood Priority Surveys carried out by the local beat team during July - October 2011 for the Stapleford and Bramcote cluster, 41 surveys indicated that Burglary was still an issue to local residents. It has therefore been agreed at the recent PACT meeting held on the 20th October that burglary will continue to be a priority for the Stapleford and Bramcote beat teams.

    Our Response
Operation Concentric was a huge success and crime in the area reduced dramatically on figures for the previous year including burglary.

Operation Darker Nights has now started in the Broxtowe South area and high visibility patrols will be carried out in target areas by officers of the Broxtowe South beat teams. Residents will be given crime prevention advice relating to burglary.

If you have any information in relation to who may be committing burglaries in the Stapleford and Bramcote area please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

This priority will be reassessed in January 2012

    Our Solution
Priorities being reviewed at Cluster/Neighbourhood level.
  • Speeding   Show details
Out of the 324 surveys carried out between July - October 2011 103 showed that speeding is still a priority in the area. The main roads that have been higlighted by the surveys as being a concern are Hickings Lane, Toton Lane and Nottingham Road which will continue to be the main points at which speed checks are carried out not only by officers of the local beat teams but also by special constables.

    Our Response
Officers using speed detection devices will attend the areas to monitor vehicles at the times that have been identified and where applicable, issue fixed penalty tickets. There has been a large amount of training work done by PC 739 Farrell from Stapleford Police Station which has greatly increased the number of officers that are now trained to use the speed gun and so there will be more speed checks being carried out in the Stapleford and Bramcote areas.
This priority will be reassessed in January 2012

    Our Solution
Priorities being reviewed at Cluster/Neighbourhood level.
  • Anti Social Behaviour   Show details
Out of the 324 neighbourhood priority surveys carried out by the Neighbourhood Policing Team during July - October 2011, 32 of them stated that anti social behaviour is still a priority to the residents of Stapleford and Bramcote. The key locations identified in Stapleford South East are the Cemetery, Hickings Lane skate park and the area surrounding Hickings Lane junction with Ewe Lamb Lane.

    Our Response
The local officers are continuing to patrol the park areas in the evenings and at weekends and engage with any groups that are seen to be congregating on them to obtain their details and tackle any anti social behaviour that may be occurring.

There has recently been a number of issues brought to the attention of the local beat officers by staff from Broxtowe Council in relation to the skateboard ramps at Hickings Lane Park. Twice the skateboard ramp has been the target for a large amount of criminal damage and therefore it will now be removed and not replaced due to the rising costs of maintaining it. If anyone has any information regarding who is doing this damage please contact the local beat officers at Stapleford Police Station 101 extension 8555761.

Operation Animism has successfully been running for the last few months on Broxtowe North and South, the neighbourhood policing teams have targeted hot spot areas taking names of all persons found in these areas and dealt with any issues of ASB strongly. We have found that within a few nights of this action the problems have seized. Victims of ASB have been regularly visited and updated with actions taken. Areas are agreed and discussed every week and are based on calls received by the public and intelligence submitted by the neighbourhood policing team.
This action has also resulted in several warrants being carried where cannabis was seized and persons arrested.

This priority will be reassessed in January 2012

    Our Solution
Priorities being reviewed at Cluster/Neighbourhood level.
  • Groups of youths   Show details
Results from the neighbourhood priority surveys (NPS) that were returned show that anti social behaviour (ASB) is still a priority. The PPACT (Police, Partners and Communities Together) meeting held on 1st October 2009 agreed that groups of youths causing ASB would remain a priority and that several locations for each beat within the cluster would be identified.

The following locations for the Stapleford cluster were decided at the PACT meeting on the 30th June 2009 and have remained areas of focus: Beeston Fields Drive, Hillside Road (Bramcote) Montrose Court, Pasture Road (Stapleford North) Cliffe Hill Avenue, Hickings Lane Park (Stapleford South East) Derby Road, Archer Road (Stapleford West) The peak times for these incidents are 1900-2300 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

    Our Response
The methods to be used in combating the issues raised will be by high visibility patrols in these areas at appropriate times by members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team and The Special Constabulary.

Positive action will be taken and offenders arrested where required. Use will be made of stop and search powers and powers of dispersal. Alcohol seizures will be made. Low level offenders will also be identified and required to sign up to acceptable behaviour contracts.

This priority will be reassessed in January 2010.

    Our Solution
Following the recent PPACT meeting on 12th January 2010 and the neighbourhood priority surveys that have been returned it has been decided that ASB is no longer a priority for the cluster. The local beat Officers will however maintain the current emphasis on this in order to prevent it becoming a priority in future.
