- Anti-social behaviour Show details
Representatives from all areas within this beat cluster attended a Neighbourhood Priority Setting meeting on 24th January 2012, in order to set the priorities for the following three months. Neighbourhood Priority Surveys were used to collect the opinions, beliefs and concerns of the residents across the beat cluster area; this being Gedling, St. James, Phoenix, Burton Joyce, Lambley and Stoke Bardolph. Further information has also been gathered through surgeries and house to house enquiries / business visits to ensure that Policing priorities reflect and address the issues specific to the community.

Various locations have been identified throughout the beat cluster:

The types of anti-social behaviour range from reports of large groups hanging around, noise/disturbances to reports of criminal damage. NCT buses have also been experiencing problems with youths tampering with the engine cut off switches.
Our Response
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct high profile patrols using Beat Officers, PCSOs, Special Constables and Gedling Borough Council Wardens. These officers will pay attention to the locations taking positive action against anyone who is disturbing the peace.
Stop searches will be carried out for drugs and alcohol where powers allow and arrests will be made if applicable.
Any young person found under the influence will be taken home and their parents spoken to.
Where there is sufficient evidence against persistent troublemakers Acceptable Behaviour Contracts and / or Anti-Social Behaviour Orders will be applied for in conjunction with Gedling Borough Council ASB team.
We with closely monitor licensed premises with our partners within the Council Licensing Department and Trading Standards. Any breaches of the law will be dealt with. We with also conduct ‘test purchases’ to ensure compliance.
We will also talk with Youth Services to ensure there are diversionary activities for young people taking place.
Update (28/01/12) - patrols have been carried out in the above identified locations. At the meeting the above locations were reviewed. Details of any persons involved in anti-social behaviour will continue to be fowarded to our partners for discussion each month in relation to possible ABCs / ASBOs.
