Burton Joyce is a large village that is situated on the outskirts of Nottingham. The village is placed firmly on the A612; this main arterial route bisects the village. The A612 runs from Southwell through to Nottingham and encompasses a number of small villages along its route. The River Trent is the southern border of the village and the natural high ground between Burton Joyce and Lambley is the northern border. The village centre on Main Street has a small shopping area. Within the area there is a primary school situated on Padleys Lane and three public houses.
Stoke Bardolph is a rural hamlet which is relatively isolated. The village is geographically situated between the River Trent and the A612. The A612 is a main road that runs from Southwell through to Nottingham. The area surrounding the village is used extensively for farming, with a large sewage works and a meat processing plant situated off Stoke Lane, Stoke Bardolph. The village has a licensed social club and a church. There is one public house, The Ferry Boat, which is a popular summer attraction. The pub is situated next to the River Trent down river from Stoke Lock.
Lambley is a quiet rural village. The village is situated on the main road that runs between the A6097 at Lowdham and the B684 Plains Road Mapperley. The main road through the village is a busy commuter route between the above-mentioned roads. Beat Update
NEIGHBOURHOOD UPDATE (Updated 2nd May 2012)
BURTON JOYCE
There have been two reports of crime in Burton Joyce over the last month. This is a decrease of two crimes from last month. The following crimes have been reported over the last month. We have had one report of criminal damage within the village and one report of a shed break on Lambley Lane.
There have been three reports of Anti Social behaviour within the village over the last month. One being on the Bridle Road involving a party getting a little loud and the other two reports were for the Co-op on a Friday night. The problems on a Friday day involve people from outside of the village interacting with people from the village. We are conducting proactive patrols as a beat team within your local area and they will be an increase of staff over the next two weeks within the village.
Parking around the school is still a big issue, this is both in the morning and the afternoon. Can I ask that you do not park on the yellow zigzag lines, over driveways and within 30ft of a junction. If you ignore the above then you are putting your children and others at risk.
LAMBLEY
There have been five reports of crime in Lambley over the last month. This is an increase of four from last month. The above crimes include two thefts from motor vehicles, a shed break on the top estate of Spring Lane, a burglary dwelling on Catfoot Lane and a criminal damage on Main Street. With regard to the burglary enquiries are still ongoing and we are actively looking for the offenders.
On the good news front Officers have stopped and warned persons using drugs in the cemetery car park and since there have been no further sightings of vehicles at that location, we will however continue to monitor the area .
There have been no reports of anti social behaviour within the village and so we feel the problems on the Dumbles last month were a one off.
We do have engagements within the village and these are on the web site.
STOKE BARDOLPH
We have had no crime reported in the last month on the area. The only item of interest was the recovery of a number of cannabis plants that had been dumped at the side of the river enquiries are still ongoing into this matter.
There has been no reported anti social behaviour within the village over the last month. This is the same as last month and the month before.
Fly tipping is still happening alongside the river so if you see anything please contact us, details are on the web site. This is also occurring on Stoke Lane and still on Cats Lane Stoke Bardolph.
Please come along to our beat surgeries and patch walks and watch out for more of our updates for what’s happening in your area. The next beat surgery will be at the Seven Trent Social Club car park at 16.00 on the 24/05/12.

On the 18th of April whilst doing a school patrol in Lambley an armed robbery has occurred in Woodborough at the post office. Due to the local knowledge of the Safer Neighbourhood team and being in the right place at the right time this facilitated in the three arrests being made.
