Completed Neighbourhood Priorities

Representatives from all areas within this beat cluster attended a Local Area Group meeting in January, in order to set the priorities for the following three months. Neighbourhood Priority Surveys were used to collect the opinions, beliefs and concerns of the residents across the beat cluster this being Gedling, St. James, Phoenix, Burton Joyce, Lambley and Stoke Bardolph. Further information has also been gathered through surgeries and house to house/business visits to ensure that Policing priorities reflect and address the issues specific to the community.
Various locations have been identified throughout the beat cluster.
Phoenix: Mountbatten Grove (top end) and Priory Road (towards the bottom, near to Friday Lane).
These offences have mainly occured overnight, any days of the week
Our Response
High visibility patrols will be carried out by Gedling Borough Council and the Police in order to prevent these offences and take positive action against any offenders.
If anyone has any information in relation to the identity of those responsible for these offences, please contact Crimestoppers or a member of your Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The main location for parking problems is: -
Gedling - Carnarvon Grove
There is no specific pattern to this problem however it is worse on Saturdays during the daytime and late afternoon / evenings during the week.
Our Response
Beat Officers and Gedling Borough Council wardens will patrol this area and advise motorists in relation to their parking.
Positive action will be taken depending on each individual circumstance.
Work will be carried out with premises in the immediate vicinity in a bid to discourage poor / inconsiderate parking.
Update (09/01/12) - patrols continue in and around the identified area. These have been received positively by members of the public who have been spoken with during these patrols.
This priority will be re-assessed on 24th January 2012 at the Priority Setting Meeting.
Our Solution
At the Neighbourhood Priority Setting meeting it was deeemed that this matter had been problem solved and that now Notts County Council were to patrol and enforce the parking matters. - Underage drinking Show details
Representatives from all areas within this beat cluster attended a Neighbourhood Priority Setting meeting on 24th January 2012, in order to set the priorities for the following three months. Neighbourhood Priority Surveys were used to collect the opinions, beliefs and concerns of the residents across the beat cluster area; this being Gedling, St. James, Phoenix, Burton Joyce, Lambley and Stoke Bardolph. Further information has also been gathered through surgeries and house to house enquiries / business visits to ensure that Policing priorities reflect and address the issues specific to the community.

Various locations have been identified throughout the beat cluster:
Burton Joyce - Main Street around the shopping precinct and Nottingham Road near to the children’s play park.
Busy nights were identified as being Thursday to Saturday, from late afternoon to 11pm.
Our Response
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct high profile patrols using Beat Officers, PCSOs, Special Constables and Gedling Borough Council Wardens. These officers will pay attention to the locations taking positive action against anyone who is disturbing the peace.
Stop searches will be carried out for drugs and alcohol where powers allow and arrests will be made if applicable.
Any young person found under the influence will be taken home and their parents spoken to.
Where there is sufficient evidence against persistent troublemakers Acceptable Behaviour Contracts and / or Anti-Social Behaviour Orders will be applied for in conjunction with Gedling Borough Council ASB team.
We with closely monitor licensed premises with our partners within the Council Licensing Department and Trading Standards. Any breaches of the law will be dealt with. We with also conduct ‘test purchases’ to ensure compliance.
We will also talk with Youth Services to ensure there are diversionary activities for young people taking place.
Update (01/03/12) - this appears to be a problem that is currently being experienced in the above locations. Details of any persons involved in underage drinking will be fowarded to our partners for discussion each month in relation to possible ABCs / ASBOs.
This priority will be re-assessed on 12th April 2012 at the next Priority Setting Meeting.
Our Solution
This is no longer deemed to be a priority, at the Neighbourhood Priority setting meeting which was held on 12th April 2012. The problem has reduced however it will still be looked at under the continuing ASB priority.
