Netherfield and Colwick
Colwick Village is situated on the border of the Netherfield and Carlton beat areas and Sneinton (covered by City Neighbourhood Policing Area). The Colwick beat area is encompassed by the Leicester-Lincoln railway line, the Colwick Country Park, the River Trent and Private Road Number 1 from the Colwick Industrial Estate.
The Colwick Loop Road divides the Colwick beat, with housing estates on either side. Vale Road is the main arterial route through Colwick, on which is situated St Johns the Baptist Church, Colwick Medical Practice, Vale Road Pharmacy, The Vale Social Club, St Johns the Baptist Primary School, two convenience stores and the Colwick Community Centre.
The Colwick Community Centre plays hosts to a number of functions, including the local pre school playgroup, local parish council meetings, various classes as well as a monthly evening beat surgery hosted by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The Rectory Recreation Ground on Mile End Road, which runs off the Colwick Loop Road, contains a large grassed playing area, a play park, a newly installed teen shelter and a multipurpose all weather ball court.
Netherfield is a very small town situated between Carlton and Colwick. The borders of the area are Private Road Number 1, Station Road, Stoke Lane and the River Trent. Despite its size, Netherfield has lots to offer to residents and visitors. The main road through Netherfield, Victoria Road, has a variety of small shops, hairdressers, a Post Office, a medical centre and a wide selection of takeaways.
The St Georges Community Centre, in the heart of Netherfield, offers a range of services: hosting clubs and activities for all ages, local community groups (for example the Netherfield Neighbourhood Watch) and also holds a Citizen Advice Bureau once a week.
On the outskirts of Netherfield, the newly expanded Victoria Retail Park attracts a large number of visitors to its larger retailers and its Sport Fitness Centre.
Under the Policing Pledge, this is an urban beat and has a 15 minute emergency response time. For an explanation of what this means click here.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PRIORITY UPDATE (02/01/2012)
The next Neighbourhood Priority setting meeting is to be held on Tuesday 17th January 2012, at which, the previous priorities will be reviewed and updated, survey data that has been collected from the previous three months reviewed and new priorities for the area created. The current priority for this area is anti social behaviour and vehicle nuisance at Victoria Retail Park and Colwick Industrial Estate. If there are any concerns or issues you as a community or personally would like raising at the next meeting then please contact your local representative, myself or any member of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and we will raise the subject on your behalf.
Anti Social Behaviour, has been highlighted as the main priority for the Netherfield and Colwick beat area. We are working with partner agencies to allow the local community to show that they will not tolerate this type of behaviour by reporting incidents to the relevant agencies and co operate and challenge the offenders to make their neighbourhood a safer place to live. Later this month, a local male will be appearing before the courts with regards to offences including those of an anti social nature.
Regarding the vehicle nuisance on the Victoria Retail Park and Pintail Close, operations continue on a regular basis, these have and continue to yield positive results. Significant progress has been made regarding our application for an injunction against “cruising” in the area. This will be decided in court later this month, with the outcome looking likely to be granted. This will mean that vehicles in the area that engage in cruising can be summoned before a court and issued a hefty fine, this once they have already received one warning in the previous twelve months.
ARRESTS/INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

A reminder that Nottinghamshire Police has a FREE website: https://www.nottinghamshirealert.co.uk for people who live or work in the area so they can sign up for free information and crime alerts. We regularly send out alerts informing people of crime in the area and appeals for information. We hope it will enable us to communicate with more residents in a quicker, more efficient way. Why not have a look at the site and sign up today.
