West Bridgford

This is the town of West Bridgford, situated to the South of Nottingham City. It's boundary is the River Trent from Holme Pierrepont to Wilford Village and the A52 Ring Road from Bassinfield to Wilford Village. It comprises of the following beats: Abbey, Compton Acres, Edwalton, Gamston, Ladybay, Lutterell, Melton, Musters and Trent Bridge.
The area is mainly housing, with two small business parks and a vibrant town centre.


Neighbourhood Priorities

Through consultation with the members of the public in this neighbourhood we regularly set out a number of priorities to be tackled.

  • Burglary patrols Lady bay, Trent Bridge and Compton acres areas. Show details
    As a result of recent area group meetings in April 2012 and completed crime surveys burglary has been raised as an issue of concern for local residents.
    We will be completing burglary patrols in the following areas:
    Ladybay
    Trent Bridge
    Compton Acres

    Ladybay area

    In the last 4 weeks period there has been one attempted burglary at a house. There have also been two sheds broken into in this period. These have been in the Holme Road area. This follows on from a trend of sheds being entered in the same area during March also.
    Patrols will be taking place in the Holme Road, Adbolton Grove and Trent Boulevard area.
    If you have a shed please consider fitting a shed alarm and ensuring that the shed is kept locked.
    If you have a bike please ensure that you secure it. If it is left outside please secure it to something or if kept in your shed please secure it to something inside the shed.

    Trent Bridge area

    In the last 4 weeks period there has been two burglaries at houses. There have also been seven sheds broken into in this period. Patrols will be taking place in the William Road, Millicent Road, Epperstone Road and Musters Road areas.
    If you have a shed please consider fitting a shed alarm and ensuring that the shed is kept locked. If you have a bike please ensure that you secure it. If it is left outside please secure it to something or if kept in your shed please secure it to something inside the shed.

    Compton Acres area

    In the last 4 weeks period there has been five burglaries at houses. Patrols will be taking place in the Compton Acres and Landmere Lane areas including the side roads that lead off these roads.

    We have identified peak times and days for these offences and will ensure that they are patrolled by officers.

    We will communicate to residents our successes and keep them updated with actions taken.

    We will ensure that we gather intelligence on those offenders committing burglaries and target them when they visit the areas.

    Patrols will be both mobile and on foot. They will be uniformed and plain clothes patrols in the area.

    Stop and search powers will be used by officers where applicable.

    Target hardening will be completed by the safer neighbourhood policing team in the area and this will include crime prevention advice.

  • Anti-Social behaviour – Gamston Show details
    The community at the last area group meeting in April 2012 have raised concerns re youths hanging around the area. The areas that have been reported area Morrison’s at Gamston, the canal area near the store and the area near to Gamston Community Hall.

    The reports re this have been sporadic but have mainly been in the late afternoon and evening times on various days of the week. The reports have related to groups hanging around and engaging in acts of anti-social behaviour. These reports have also included reports of persons riding motorcycles along the canal path. There has been an increase in litter in the area, we have informed Rushcliffe Borough council regarding this.


    Our Response
    Officers will pay regular attention to the area to identify and deal with any persons engaging in any such behaviour. Any large groups will be dispersed and discouraged.
    The police off road motorcycle team have been requested to patrol the area also.

    Schools officers will reinforce behaviour messages within schools. County Council youth services will be contacted if opportunities arise for them to engage and provide diversionary activities.

    We will work with partners regarding these issues.
  • Anti-Social behaviour – Trent Bridge beat Show details
    The community at the last area group meeting in April 2012 have raised concerns re the Rushworth Avenue and Millicent Road areas. There are reports of anti social behaviour in the alleyway on Rushworth Avenue. There has also been rubbish dumped at this location.
    Residents of the Millicent Road area have reported anti social behaviour in the area. There have been reports of drunken persons congregating in the area some of whom have been abusive to residents and passers by.

    The reports re this have been sporadic but have mainly been in the late afternoon and evening times on various days of the week.


    Our Response
    Officers will pay regular attention to the area to identify and deal with any persons engaging in any such behaviour. Any large groups will be dispersed and discouraged. Persons in the alleyway will be moved on by the police.

    We will work with partners to address the issues in these areas.
