Six inactive explosives have been found in Costock.

The items, believed to be mortar bombs from the Second World War, were uncovered by a building company in land off the A60 at around 12.30pm today (Thursday 7 December 2017).

Officers attended along with the bomb disposal unit to make sure the area was safe and the devices were safely removed.

It's thought the bombs, which were 15ins long, were filled with sand and would've been used in training.

101 is the number to call when you need to contact Nottinghamshire Police and it’s less urgent than a 999 call. Calls cost 15p, no matter how long the call lasts.
